We were on the first day of the Nidderdale Walk, walking from Pateley Bridge to Ripley and we expected our stay at the Boars Head to be the gastronomic highlight of our 4 day walk. some much si that we invited our husbands to join...us. We arrived back from our walk and enjoyed a glass of wine outside. When we went to book in I asked if we could add the drinks to our bill and was told No I need to pay then. We were shown to our rooms and when we went to my friends room there was a dog bowl with food in the room for some reason. The Manager seemed as surprised as us and went to check we had the right room. We never heard anything more so who knows We all went down to dinner and although I spe...

After I just spent 2 fantastic nights in the boars head, I wanted to say how safe I felt. this is the first time that my man and I have stayed everywhere since 2019 due to covid. I was very impressed by all the safety measures that are applied in this facility. from the moment we came to the moment we were gone. we were in the room the poachers the, that was immaculately clean and was refreshed every day. we ate an evening in the hotel bar, although the menu was served due to the personal reductions in the kitchen (covid safe) was still a lot to choose, and all the food served was beautifully presented. at breakfast they showed their table and asked if they need fresh fruit etc., then what t...

we visited the boars head pub last week for lunch. the meal itself was good, but sad it was pampered by the drinks experience. I asked for a glass malbec . unfortunately this was only delivered by the bottle and not by the glass. I asked about a glass shiraz instead that was nice. but when we got the bill to our insult, the glass wee was with 11.00!!! that was almost the same price as my main meal. unfortunately this spoils the whole experience of our visit to the boars head . I did not ask the bill, but unfortunately no tipp was given for the personal. so my tipp would check the weinlist before ordering!

Its been some years since we last ate here and we won't be rushing back. Service was mixed some great staff and some so inexperienced that it spoilt our enjoyment. The food was ok' fish and chips were good but the pork belly...not so nice and the bruschetta frankly amateur. Wine list was interesting and some decent wine by the glass. The dining room atmosphere is dreadful. The pub area somewhat better. Sorry, I want places like this to do well, but this just isn't good enough at the moment. Book a table now

what a perfect foundation in a beautiful location, we had a room in the main building and what a room, large and bright with two wing windows large comfortable bed and beautiful bathroom, we ate in the restaurant can recommend the frying bark dinner, and. the breakfast was just so good with nice friendly staff the head of the boars is a to remember and back when we are back in the opposite

As we have friends who live in the nearby village of Bishop Thornton, we often pop down to The Boars Head for drinks, and sometimes their fabulous Sunday lunch! (booking recommended) It’s also nice that we can take our four legged friends in as well,...and they also get “the red carpet treatment” from the staff! Can’t wait to return after all this mess that we are all in at the moment.

We would eat and drink here more often but pate starter £9 . Steak pie chips and peas £15 and almost £5 a pint for pub food . Food average and far better with in a few mile . Shame because we like it here.... Plus locals are definitely treat with more respect which we actually saw . Being on the outskirts of a caravan park it doesnt cater for this . Your better off looking elsewhere

We give this place a poor review during the onset of COVID-19 We have recently returned on 2 occasions and must comment on the exceptional high standard of both the food and the superb staff working admirably throughout these difficult times to make the surroundings...COVID safe Congratulations to all, this business deserves success, see you soon Book a table now
