Dined in on a Thursday evening. Very busy, but service was prompt and attentive. We shared the Bollywood leg of lamb, the daal bollywood and the palak paneer. The lamb did, as promised, "melt in the mouth", and was generously sized. The daal and paneer were also well proportioned. Nothing we ate tasted bad - far from it. It's just that none of it had the kick that one would expect from Indian food. Indian food in Canberra seems to generally be very mild; even though the dishes we picked are generally on the milder side, I found that they were a bit on the bland side, especially the daal. The creaminess could have been dialled down on all three dishes. Recommended for an inoffensive midwee...

Look average is not bad at all, but I guess when you pay $50 or more for a meal, you are looking for at-least above average. Nothing was particularly bad. The taste was fine. The malai kofta was under-whelming, but the palak paneer was quite good. The naans were soft and well made but the roti was on the dry side. As per my namesake "True Indian" I am trying to compare the taste and flavours to authentic curries of Old Delhi or Amritsar in India (Ohh...my mouth waters at the thought), However having done 17 reviews of Indian food in Australia I am also trying to compare to others that I have been having in the land down under....So average is all I will say....
We really enjoyed our experience here at Bollywood Masala Indian restaurant, Pretty was our waitress and she was so lovely (not just pretty) but she was very sweet and so helpful. The food was surblime, we will definitely be coming back here next time we are in Canberra as we highly recommend this restaurant! Oh I forgot to add, the red wine a Shiraz Pretty recommended was really great too!
Great place to meet up with friends or just to go with your significant other. The staff were very attentive and the food is very aromatic and tasty!! We went of a banquet meal which brought an array of starters, great selection of mains accompanied be two types of rice and naans! This may well become a regular dining place for me! Book a table now
I was surprised how nice the food was here. We had the eggplant which was amazing and also the rogan josh curry and some naan. All excellent and ample enough we took the leftovers home. Service is a bit slow but hey, it's Canberra!!
Back again for a cracking Butter Chicken, paired with two lamb cutlets. Delish. Can't go past it. Best Indian in Canberra. Only one downside, got a whole meal roti rather than a normal one, not for me.
I had the Malai Kofta which was delicious. The staff are friendly and attentive. Prices are in line with the quality of food and service as well as the premium Kingston location
Very thoughtful of them to give me a cup of kheer in my take away pack. Food is great. Will be back again. The daal was great and so was the cheese naan. Book a table now
Everything I expected but more....traditional thali meals and other vegetarian dishes that i have only had in the cities. Lovely place to sit!
