My wife and I enjoyed eating at Brasserie du Theatre. First, this place has a pleasantly old-fashioned look that we liked. (We grew up in New Orleans, and it reminded us a bit of Galatoire's.) Second, the service, while not "folksy," was pleasant, friendly, and unfailingly professional. Third, all the food we ordered was well-prepared and very good, and the wines our servers recommended were also quite good and went well with the food we had ordered. In addition, both the food and wine were reasonably priced. I should note in closing that we always ate inside, but the outdoor seating also seemed very nice.
Located near the theater in Place du Comedie, this old fashioned restaurant has a formal feel with linen table clothes and napkins. The service was also more formal and very efficient without being snooty. For lunch we tried the linguini legumes in a marscapone sauce. The linguini was perfectly cooked and the legumes added a garden fresh flavor and texture. This was a pleasant alternative to the typical outdoor restaurants in the square. The prices were a bit higher but still not unreasonable. Lunch with two glasses of wine was around 45 Euros.
Really beautiful interior, great service, really tasty food. Much better value and quality than on the main tourist squares. But really the calm and peacefulness of the setting was worth every euro. Montpellier is a very busy town, but here you enter into a quiet calm, with wonderful patient waiting staff, happy to explain all in English. Can't recommend highly enough.
Digne of a great quality Parisian brewery. Relaxed but always attentive service. Classic dishes of French cuisine, perfected. And what to say about these leaps... they alone deserve a detour to this establishment! As impressive as excellent, from the choice of cabbage chocolate
