Booked a table for dinner for our first night in Rudescheim after reading great reviews but failing to get accommodation here and it's a good thing I booked 3 months in advance as this place is very popular! The restaurant was outside in a covered courtyard just off the Drosselgasse, the main tourist street, and was full at 7pm. Being our first night in Germany we all went for the safe option of Snitzel served with french fries it was very good and I would have enjoyed it even more if they had not made it so salty, we discovered that salt is used a lot in restaurant food in Germany and it can be a little overwhelming. Desserts were excellent as was the local Riesling albeit very pricey, €32...

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. We were on a Viking cruise, but did not sign up for the dinner excursion and just walked over to the restaurant on our own. We arrived at 6:45 and the place was completely empty, but the band was playing and the atmosphere was welcoming. We sat down, ordered a bottle of the local dry Riesling, and as we were looking over the menu, the entire group of 50 60 viking guests came in. The energy immediately changed to a party and the band livened up even more. We ordered the schnitzel and the local river trout. Both were excellent and don’t miss the local herbed cheese with fresh bread. We were so glad to have been able to order off the menu, rather than having...

We happened upon the place while strolling thru the village. It was entertaining to watch the tourists and staff. Good place to people watch. Nice location and the weather was good as was the food. We had the Schnitzels (Ebbes von de Wutz) which were good. A nice meal. My wife ordered her sauce on the side and they mistakenly charged us an extra €7 Euros. We will go back. Surprisingly over a third of the cost of the meal was in taxes!

We arrived on a Saturday evening when it was full. The friendly waiter asked us to come back in 20 minutes, and sure enough, a table was ready for us. We enjoyed the food and the wine and the service team dressed in traditional costumes. Even better, we enjoyed watching the (mainly German 50+ crowd singing and dancing to the live music.
