What has happened to BubbaQ? Such a disappointment for what used to be our favorite BBQ place to go. My husband got the smash burger and okra and it looked like a child's serving, 3 out of 5 people order was wrong, they got the right order but not served with the things on the menu. one hot dog was just died cold bread and a hot dog, the bbq meat Slaw, cheese sauce was left off. Instead of taking it back and remaking it she was brought a little cup of each and no cheese sauce. 3 ordered fried okra and it was a tiny serving, like shockingly small. 2 ordered the smash burger, it was brought out plain with nothing, no lettuce, tomato, onion, nothing. And the prices are not cheap for the serving...
Typical barbecue joint. Very friendly staff and great ambiance for what it is-a barbecue joint. Indoor and outdoor seating. Apparently they have won some pretty major barbecue cookoffs. One sign read world champions, or something to that effect. Skip Biggun's. That place is like eating in a cafeteria, and it's always crowded out the wazoo. Find your own table, if there is one, etc. Spend your money at Bub-ba-q. Ambiance and atmosphere here are the best in the region. Hostess will seat you, lots of TVs, etc. Parking: Lots of spaces. However there is typically a crowd here any time.
We recently moved to Jasper and today, my husband and I decided to try out this BBQ restaurant for lunch. We opted to sit outside on the porch. He ordered the pulled pork special for lunch, while I chose the veggie plate with four sides. Everything was absolutely delicious! The sides were cooked perfectly—not overdone as I’ve experienced at other BBQ places before. Our waitress was also incredibly friendly and attentive. I’m looking forward to bringing the whole family back soon!
We enjoyed everything we ordered. The chicken and ribs stood out as the highlights of our meal. We tried the sampler appetizer, salad, chicken, ribs, stew, and fries. The only dish that didn’t impress us was the stew. For lunch, the price per person was around $10–20. Overall, we rated the food, service, and atmosphere a perfect 5. I highly recommend the Fried Pickles and Bubba Penos!

I haven't had a drink there in a while because the food was disappointing. This was about six months ago, so hopefully it has improved since then. For starters, the Mexican platter actually had tin foil in it, and the ribs and chicken just weren't as good as they were a year ago. Perhaps things have gotten better since then.
I was hesitant to try this place because of some reviews, but the wings were definitely a 10/10. The brisket sandwich was a solid 7/10. My mother-in-law mentioned that the ribs were really good as well. They have half-priced wings on Wednesdays, so I’d likely come back again!
The service was quick and welcoming. We ordered a full rack of ribs, which they kindly split onto two plates for us. The ribs were tasty, although a bit overcooked and chewy. However, the flavor was enjoyable. The fried okra was excellent, and I also really liked the beans.
Absolutely the driest pork we've ever eaten. Never saw that much black or burnt pieces. French fries, could have used them for pick up sticks. Waitress was very good, she was the only thing good about the experience. For the owner to boast about being a champion is a joke.

I've never had a BBQ chimichanga in the Georgia Mountains before. From now on, I think I'll need a drink after saying that. But if I'm at Bub-ba-q, you can bet I’ll be enjoying a great craft beer on tap while relaxing on a lovely porch.
