Brand new and needs help, waitress could not open up the bottle of wine, playing 90s hip hop while having a bar menu and motif that makes it look 1933 (maybe play that era music). We almost walked out because I expected more fancy. The butternut squash was amazing but was cold by the time it got to me, they served a cheese board wo knowing what the cheeses were, our server was so nice but clearly clueless. For a new place, I would suggest the manager check in to see what they could improve etc. Reasonably priced, drinks were classic 1930s era, wine list needs to b expanded.

Great restaurant with simple but good menu options. Chef and owner came to table to provide thoughts on food selections and checked on us during the meal. Would highly recommend for a meetup of friends or business meeting where you don't want to do the typical haunts. Had the Shrimp and Grits which were awesome. Shrimp spice, blackened and well seasoned with creamy grits (not bland). My colleagues had the venison and raved on how tender and well prepared it was. Also the charcuterie board was a hit for an appetizer with items you don't typically see.
Mehh… best describes the place. Overpriced food, below average cocktails, weird atmosphere with canteen looking chairs and open fridge in a restaurant-like space. Too expensive. Venison burger for $20+ it better be spectacular! …but it ain’t… Corpse reviver #2 is nit a difficult drink to make, but it was way below the “cocktail place” expectation set by the description. Change the description leave the cocktails to be what they are. Overall needs a lot of work to justify the price-tag, both in ambience and in the kitchen.
we had a business trip dinner. the service was very good. our waitress was very patient with numerous asking with whom we whistled them. eating was delicious, thoughtful and arranged. my only wish for the team is to have a printed menu for drinks not only for cocktails and beers, but for the great variety they already have on camp. it will be much better than to write the waitress back and forth the lists of the wee and spiritual that they have praised next to their. beautiful place with exceptional service, delicious food and a high quality cocktail program. recommend the hummus appetizer, squirrel entree and tiramisu! bucatini bolognese was also very delicious. mixologist is kreatiw and communicative, very talented. spoke with the gm that said they continue developing their weeping list. valid parking in the heart of midtown. we were treated on a special evening like a royal treatment. highly recommended!
Cafe 1933 seems quite similar to Joy Cafe which previously occupied the space. In fact, the menu seems an abbreviated version of Joy Cafe’s menu. The food I had at lunch was very good my sandwich was tasty and the chips were warm, crisp and paper thin. What was outstanding was the service genuinely warm, friendly and accommodating.
great service! the phenomenal personal! our waitress was amazing and so friendly. she made us the best chacutery board. the spicy honey sauce was delicious, never had anything like it before. the chef came out and said at the end of the night look again. reasonable price, will visit again
