I absolutely adore this restaurant and have been a regular customer for years. Every time I order, I am never disappointed with what I receive. I visited this restaurant hoping to enjoy a croissant and cappuccino. The counter I sat at appeared clean, but it was actually sticky. I waited 15 minutes for my cappuccino, and they took my table marker away without bringing me my drink. I had to ask for it again, and when it finally arrived, the milk was over-steamed and overly whipped, resulting in a mountain of scalded foam atop the coffee. They encourage customers to leave a tip before receiving any service, which felt off to me. The only redeeming part of my experience was the croissant, which was decent.
My daughter and I have come in almost every morning before school throughout the winter. Stella Belle and its partner, Cafe Astoria, have become one of our absolute favorite spots (I was going to say in the Twin Cities, but really, favorite spots, period. Food is delicious (crepes, sandwiches, salads, entrees, all great , love that I can get lunch/dinner for breakfast, and the special coffees (Creme Brulee or Campfire complete with toasted marshmallow! are divine. The food was fantastic, but I'm not a fan of ordering and paying through my phone. That's the main reason I won't return. When I go out to eat, I prefer having a server and personal service with a physical menu to look at. I understand this is the trend now, but it's just not for me. I went with a group of four, and having only one person handle the ordering on a single phone took up too much time. We ended up missing opportunities to chat and enjoy each other's company.

This café is my favorite; it truly is my happy place. I have only positive things to say about it. The staff is consistently friendly, the ambiance is soothing and inviting, and the food and drinks are superb. I would wholeheartedly recommend this spot to anyone—10 out of 10!
Stella Belle and Cafe Astoria share the same building. Cute brunch place located in downtown St. Paul. You scan order with your phone and they'll bring your food out. Food was delicious. Service was good.
