"Formule du midi, asparagus with a mousseline sauce, pork on the bone and then paid extra to have the cafe gourmand. With a 250 ml pichet of Chinon red the bill was just under €25! Less than £22 and ate like a king. Wonderful."

We were looking for somewhere to eat and coffee. While l'industrie had stopped serving food they were good enough to suggest a boulangerie a few metres away and happy for us to return with eats to go with a coffee. Seating inside and out opposite Le Marie, a grand white building with fountains in front.

We were passing through the town and decided to call in for lunch. The menu du jour was very good with the quail in filo pastry being exceptional with superb home made chips. Wouldn’t hesitate to eat here again if we’re in town. Good value for money, a proper french lunch

we've been eating there for 6 years now on a regular basis and it is consistently good. We usually have the plat du jour which is good value and copious. Lots of other choice on the menu though. Busy brasserie, friendly and efficient service definitely worth a look in!
