Visiting annually Freiburg, my hometown. Like the location along the DREISAM but the food is overpriced and nothing special. Service is horrend. Waiting min for a Cappuccino and Coke is unacceptable. The servers were called multiple times, walked simply by. Took the order but...did not bring it out. instead of apologizing when we pointed out that we asked TIMES min when we are served our drinks we get the response: you can see this is a mess. If it is so busy, we have no idea who got what...We are not TRAINED only get a TRAY AND ARE ASKED TO GO... Hopefully you understand! NO I DO NOT after paying EUR for one apple strudel, a double espresso and a Kaesekuchen vom Blech tasted lk coming right...
The location is spot on and can be relaxing. The highway is on the other side of the river, so the traffic is rather loud. If you can just concentrate on the river it is very nice. I came here for coffee and apple struddle...with vanilla sauce. The sauce was out of a package and the cake was probably also not home made. The price seemed fair though. There are good deals for students, so maybe they are the main audience. They have a large menu with lunch deals, cocktails and more fast food. Service was friendly and quick that afternoon. This location seems rather good, it seems like there could be so much more potential
On a fast-frying Sunday we returned to the Cafe Extrablatt. The highlight is definitely the location directly at the tributary with the large outdoor seating. Although the traffic noise is not quite to be remembered, it is good to stay there with coffee/kitchen or proper food. We had rarbarb and apple cake, which was fine, but no comparison to the confectioner cake. The milk coffee is also available with lactose-free milk, but vegans leave empty, soy milk is not available. The service was friendly despite fully occupied tables, but took a little longer.
This place is in maybe the loveliest location in Freiburg for outdoor casual dining: shady, with the stream running past. Since it's part of a big chain in Germany, the food is pretty standard fayre, catering to a younger, hip crowd. Good range of cocktails....Friendly, attentive staff. You'll be lucky to just walk by a get a table, though. Was already full at pm and we just managed to grab a table being vacated. Others weren't so fortunate

On a warm spring day the place is crowded. the staff is quite helpful in finding a table. The drinks are reasonably priced. the food is average for a cafe. Nothing special, but not bad. Although located on the river the main sound one hears...is the traffic on route if you can somehow shut that out, then it could be peaceful. Otherwise it is like sitting in the middle of a large city. There are better place in the Altstadt
Poorest service maybe ever. Too few servers, too little experience dealing with crowds, they should rather offer selfserv drinks but when we tried to order at the counter we were turned back to our table. Tons of locals doing the breakfast buffet so apparently that...must be good. And lots of families with kids because of the river Dreisam and grass riverside a little holiday feeling
Although this is on a busy road there is a car park next to the restaurant which is situated by the river with both indoor and outside seating. Very pleasant place for a sunny afternoon or evening. Mainly fast food with pizzas, burgers and lasagne...type meals which we found welcome as we are not lovers of German food
I just wanted to order a cola, but unfortunately only the colleague could accept it. The colleague could and did not want the young service. In the end, I didn't drink to my food. Too bad.

Environment. Right on the river Dreisam. Careful service. A place to relax. Recommended.
