My family went to a restaurant for an afternoon tea to celebrate my mother's birthday on Friday. We called ahead 30 minutes, and the place was quiet and welcoming when we arrived. We each had a traditional tea set, which included a teapot, finger sandwiches, scones, and other delicious desserts, for $29 per person. We also ordered a few items from the a la carte menu. We were running late, so I called Camelia Tea Room and asked if we could still stop in. They close at 4 pm. Heidi answered the phone and very politely said, yes, we 'll be glad to wait for you. We arrived at 4 pm and Beth, one of the owners, greeted us with a very warm smile. That, certainly eased our anxiety due to our late arrival. We asked Beth about different teas and their medicinal effect (s. She very patiently explained them to us. In fact, she recommended this one particular tea and offered to make us cup of it. Wow! This restaurant is a fantastic spot for enjoying tea and lunch. I tried the stuffed potato with a side of mini salad, and it was delicious. The lemon cheesecake for dessert was also very tasty.
This is a lovely spot to indulge in high tea. Located in a quaint historic neighborhood, there are charming little shops to explore before or after your meal.
