My spouse and I absolutely love Portuguese cuisine, and we believe that Caravela is the top Portuguese restaurant in South Florida. The menu has a fantastic variety of dishes that are all delicious and fresh. If you're a fan of Cod (Bacalhau), this is the place for you - they offer over six different dishes featuring Cod. Caravela also has a great selection of Albarinho wines at affordable prices. Be sure to save room for dessert, particularly the famous Portuguese dessert, Pastéis de Nata. The customer service here is exceptional. We highly recommend Caravela!
I 'd been looking forward to visiting this Doral eaterie for some time. I must admit my unfamiliarity with Portuguese cuisine, which as it happens, if Caravela is a good barometer, is a bit bland. Nevertheless, the presentation was appealing and the quality was good. The service was attentive and efficient. Would I return? Probably not. For me Caravela was a one and done experience, but that doesn 't mean others may see it differently.
My first time at Caravela, excellent service and fantastic food. Tried bolinhos de bacalhau, amazing. Main course of bacalhau, caldeirada de bacalhau was very good and abundant. Ambiance was quite and server seems to know almost everyone. Will dine again.
This was the perfect choice for our 25th anniversary dinner. Great food, service, ambiance and great value for money. We pretty much had the entire place to ourselves for the first hour. We will certainly be back in the future for another experience.
