Casa Italia fit the bill and more! They had the front windows thrown wide open, and we got a table right in the window. We were out of the direct sun, yet could enjoy the mild breeze of the early evening. We had pizzas in Casa Italia (in the evening) on the day we arrived in Bamberg. We were the only clients in the restaurant at about c'clock in the evening. The pizzas were ok once we got them but we were a...bit surprised that it took such a long time since there didn't seem to be any take-away-rush either... My friend and I visited Casa Italia for pizza this Sunday afternoon. While the pizzas were tasty, the service was rather unprofessional and degrading. We had no comfort in eating our food as the two waitors were constantly hovering around us. One particular waitor, while...speaking to us, felt the right to place his hands on our shoulders on many occasions whilst in conversation! Absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional! The waitor cleared the plates while I still had food in my mouth! When we asked to pay, the response we got was why, ye have only just arrived . Finally, the waitor took it in his own initiative to keep the change even though we had not discussed leaving a tip at that time...
Nach einem beeindruckenden Besuch des Doms und einer ausgiebigen Sightseeing-Tour mit vielen neuen Eindrücken kehrten wir hungrig im Casa Italia ein. Unsere Wahl fiel auf Pane e Aglio, Rigatoni al Forno, Panna Cotta sowie eine Auswahl an Getränken: Weißbier, trockenen Primitivo, Grappa Reserva und zum Abschluss einen Espresso. Geschmacklich war alles hervorragend – die Gerichte waren gut abgestimmt und aromatisch. Dennoch fehlte das gewisse Etwas, um die Höchstnote zu erreichen. Insgesamt ein sehr gutes Erlebnis, das auf einer Skala von 1 bis 10 eine starke 9 verdient. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

We would have liked to have lunch in a characteristic place but too many lines, to eat I don't think so. So we entered in this restaurant, where only the name and the menu are Italian, for the rest the waiter is the classic German...that you expect in the brewery, moreover not very nice, not in a pseudo Italian restaurant. Cannelloni not bad as well as penne all'arrabbiata. There is better, sure, but our time was counted, the trains do not wait for the lines for the restaurants!
We had dinner here twice. First time very good and thoroughly enjoyed it. Super food for kids, so came back the next day. Our youngest ordered the spaghetti Bolognese, same as the day before, but this time it tasted just awful, distinctly like Knorr Bouillon,...over salted and quite uneatable. We informed the staff who offered a free desert but to our surprise, the dish remained on the bill! We might have been unlucky because everything else was good.
We enter the restaurant because rain started. Pizza was probably frozen. It tasted Like from the shop, actually it does not tasted at all. Wine was warm, and waiter rude.

We stopped at Casa Italia for lunch. Pizza was good. Service was good also. Pizza and two beers for euros. What’s to complain about?
