Sadly having to give 1 out of 5 due to the terrible experience with delivery. Food was delivered an hour and a half late. Was basically lied to when enquired by phone, ranging from its out for delivery, it’s left and should be there in 5 minutes, it hasn’t left yet as it’s on the hot plate, it’s leaving in 15 minutes, to the driver was delivering it and had a car accident and had to go to hospital. I sincerely hope the latter was not a lie, it’s a terrible one if it was, but I hope the driver was ok if genuine. We ordered out takeaway for delivery through Just Eat at 5.45 with a promise of arrival around 7.30. Sat and waited till 8pm. We phoned several times after that to be misled by them re the situation. So Incensed by 9.pm we headed down to collect ourselves. On our way there the our ring doorbell announced the food arrival. . That was 9.20. We arrived at the takeaway to find chaos. No apology. A family member practising his footie skill. Staff openly saying don’t answer the phone and even a driver saying his car clutch had packed in. Another angry customer came in for his no show food. Ordered a takeaway to be delivered, after an hour and a half, it hadn’t materialised and the restaurant used the excuse there was no mobile phone number on the system despite the driver being in the hotel with clear instructions to deliver to the hotel room. The restaurant then reassured me the order would be delivered in 10 minutes and then to my dismay the delivery driver went awol and even the restaurant could not contact him to find out his where abouts, and I got no apology for the inconvenience. Avoid !!!!
I ordered online as delivery was stated as available. I mistakenly chose pick up so called and requested delivery instead. I was told the driver had gone home so I requested a cancellation and ordered elsewhere. False advertising! The following morning I had a missed call from who I now was a delivery driver and they wanted to deliver after all. Called the evening after to be told it was my fault and I could not have a refund. THE MANAGER WAS EXTREMELY RUDE TO ME. AVOID!

I ordered online before reading any reviews (I think I mixed up restaurants)... After seeing the negative reviews, I was horrified and expecting the worst! However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the food was hot and flavorful. I would definitely order from them again.
Arrived late and cold. The rogan josh had spilled all over the inside of the take away bag and the pashwari naan had zero raisens despite advertising thay it contained them. The Tikka was also really tasteless and the rice was a stingy portion. Won't be going here again
I witnessed an elderly man (chef) lick a spoon, rinse it in a sink, and then proceed to fill a bag with salad from the same sink moments later. The food was bland and left me feeling sick all night. Consider this your first red flag before dining here.
Used castlegate for the first time, for a takeaway for myself and wife. Service excellent and very friendly Food was excellent,about £20. Good value,will be using castlegate Again very soon. Many thanks

I ordered through Deliveroo as a birthday surprise, but it arrived late and was not enjoyable. I ended up feeling unwell for the rest of the night. A very disappointing experience.
Had two take always so far and they have both been delivered quickly and the food is absolutely delicious, value for money definitely our Indian of choice in future.
