Well I went with my grandson to the park this afternoon fully expecting to buy ice creams. Didn't have correct change for car park so popped in to ask if the tea rooms could oblige. Now I know it's not their fault the machine run by the council doesn't give change (rip us off Bridgend!! but to offer to help seems beyond them. I said I'd be back in for ice creams later but they obv didn't believe me so their answer was still no. U guessed it, we missed our ice cream on principle. Top this the lady before me was charged 90 pence for a lolly, she walked away without her change, the staff didn't call after her, just shrugged and put the change in the tips pot, nice one Cedars, customer service o...

Popped in for a small bite to eat one afternoon. we went on previous recommendations, oddly enough though someone mentioned some negative points the day previous!! We arrived, it wasn't that busy, and even though the servers had seen us from the kitchen (behind the counter) they took their time to come and see to us. We were just about to leave. The lady who served us was pleasant. We only ordered a sandwich and a tea each, It seemed to take forever, and it was just a plain sandwich, nothing toasted or grilled... I don't know, I just wasn't fussed and neither was my Mum. The theme is a bit all over the place as well... modern/colourful plastic chairs and then mismatch china.... (one or the o...

We came to Bryngarw Park for a few hours on a chilly autumn morning and stopped for a hot beverage after a woodland walk. The place is lovely and I’m a firm believer in ‘Buy Local’. The prices they were charging were scandalous! For a cheap child’s fizzy bottle £1! Most places charge no more than 40p for the exact same item. £7 for a jacket potato, if you were to eat here with a family (there were 4 adults 2 little ones) it’ll cost a fortune. I understand they have over heads and staff wages but those prices will push customers away. If it were cheaper, we would of bought cakes etc. I would take a flask next time!

We arrived at the restaurant before 12, expecting our food to be served soon as the sign stated ‘food served between 12-3’. However, our food did not arrive until almost 1pm, leaving my toddler distressed and hungry. Despite there being only 2-3 other tables waiting for food, ours took an unnecessarily long time. We ordered simple items like sandwiches and soup, yet the service was slow for the price we paid. The setting was nice and the space was light and airy, earning the restaurant two stars. However, the lack of value, service, and efficiency make it difficult for me to recommend this cafe to others. Book a table now

Had the most amazing afternoon today. Table setting was fab, choice of hot mulled wine or hot mulled cider, we had some of each and both very nice. Also offered top ups. The food arrived, and what a spread such a lovely tasty selection both for vegetarians and meat eaters. Everything homemade and cooked fresh that day. No problem taking home the spares. Teas, coffee pots constantly topped up. Service was attentive and friendly but not intrusive. Would I return ? You bet we would/Will in the new year. I highly recommend the Cedars. FABULOUS

My husband and I took our Mams there for Mother's Day (though we actually went on the Saturday! to have afternoon tea. First of all the sandwiches, slices of pie, three different types of cake, the scones with jam and clotted cream and all the fruit, were all delicious. There was also so much of it that we had to take lots away with us in boxes the lovely staff provided! The customer service was brilliant, friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be back. I have written food reviews for many tea rooms and restaurants over the years, and this tea room definitely ranks high on the list of places to try! The food is fresh and well-presented, with delicious flavors. The Piri Piri chicken is especially good on a chilly day if you enjoy hot and spicy foods. Regardless of your age, you are made to feel very welcome at this establishment, which is also accessible for disabled individuals.

Fabulous Xmas afternoon tea with mulled wine yesterday. Everything home made (even the jam), savouries as well as sweet and all so fresh. Beautifully presented with garnishes of fresh fruit, just top quality and better selection than I have ever had anywhere else. Great service as well. Well worth the money, can’t wait to go back.
