I recently dined here with my husband to celebrate the end of 40 years of teaching and the experience was memorable. The numerous staff were all smiling and friendly. The eloquent way our waiter described the specials was moving, almost poetic. The timing of each course was perfect, staff were available and attentive without being intrusive. My husband had the lamb and I had the flounder, both were mouthwatering and they even provided us with a half and half serve of salad and chips when we couldn't agree on which side dish to get. We wanted to farewell some very good overseas friends with a top shelf dining experience and chose Centonove. It did not disappoint at any level. Our waiter was absolutely delightful.I am not sure if he was the owner too, but he appeared to wait our table and oversee the entire rest of the room with courtesy, professionalism, and great knowledge. The food in a word was sublime , and our waiter matched the dishes superbly with wine. It was a truly lovely evening. For us , this is a special occasion venue but we would definitely eat here again.
If you feel like Italian food , this is the place to go to... Reviews have reccomended the gratin eggplant ... They were so right ., this is superb and excellent fir vegetarians.. My partner and I also tried the fried Calamarie , scallops and the great ocean breast duck.. Again all dishes were superb . It is no wonder the restaurant keeps winning awards every year.... The service was also excellent ..
Very nice small restaurant ( have private room upstairs ) located in one of Melbourne best area ! Cosy warm great service , great food most dish looks very inviting , modern Australian & a bit Italian I think , beautiful wines list ! My family all love this restaurant highly recommend if you want a romantic dinner in local area like Kew that's the one ! Perfect night with love ones❤️

We attended a degustation dinner where each course was matched with one or two Pimpernel wines. Each course was delicious and was well matched with the wines, which included Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Shiraz Viognier and Shiraz Marsanne.

This is consistently our favourite restaurant and a place where we are always delighted to take friends. We took four business colleagues recently and they were delighted not least with the excellent wine selection.

Had 2 courses for $35. Zucchini (and cheese?) as entree and fried swordfish as main. Both were excellent! Definitely will go there again.
The moment you walk into this restaurant you feel very welcome and then you get to eat delicious food. A wonderful experience.
