We (3 Black women) arrived 30 mins early for our 6:45 reservation and acknowledged immediately that we were early. Even though the restaurant was nearly empty (4 tables occupied) the host refused to seat us stating that the table reserved for us was already occupied. We were welcome to wait at the bar; we agreed to do this and had a drink at the bar. At 6:30 a party of 4 arrived and was seated immediately. first time and interesting. hostess seemed like she was in a coma, but our waitress was friendly yet a little distracted. they say their food portions are small, but they seemed average to us. the description as small plates encourages you to order more, at least more than I can eat. bang bang shrimp was exquisite, as were lamb sliders and salmon. really good kitchen and reasonably priced. ambience needs work. the central bar seems like something out of vegas, overlit and vacant. the table seating is relegated to the edges of the room, and the lighting has all the charm of gymnasium. softly light the perimeter and play down the central bar, wake up the hostess, and you have a terrific additi...
Central is always a fly place to get wine on tap and share small plates. We love sitting at the bar and ordering a thing or two at a time. This time we enjoyed a salad and street corn then moved on to swordfish and Spanish meatballs. Yum!!
I was really excited to check this place, but ultimately disappointed. overall, for the price point and what it is trying to be, are the food and service.

excellent service, exceptional food. I am again tonight was my first visit in central cafe. I started with the wild mushroom toast and seared scallops.
the restaurant itself was already there, but the morning café was added recently. the restaurant is very spacious, with many natural lights.
I loved the food, the service and ambience. The music was a little too loud which made it difficult to talk.
The food was delicious and everyone was wonderful. I always enjoy coming here.
