Chalet De La Masse

Located towards the end of the Vallons Les Enverses pistes near the foot of La Masse, Chalet de La Masse struck us as being slightly off the beaten track by being on the quieter side of the Les Menuires valley. It also struck us being one of the older establishments with a traditional charm. We hadn't booked for lunch, it's not a huge place, but we were found a table and our order was quickly taken. I guess if you really want to eat here, booking is recommended (though that applies anywhere). Service was efficient and friendly, the place had a nice ambience. We waited to be seated and we were wanting to buy waffles/coffee for the family. We were turned away despite there being empty tables along with 2-3 other families in the queue) as they were only allowing people in who wanted to buy large meals. Essentially only allowing those in who would be spending more money!

What a lovely lovely slot for lunch and sit and watch the world go by! The menu is limited, and perfectly so…. Plenty to choose from of local cuisine… duck is most definitely their speciality…. The service is brilliant, as are the serving team!

Very friendly with quick efficient service. The best waffles I’ve tasted in France. Super views and classic mountain decor done well. Good for lunch or just a coffee break.

Friendliest and most efficient staff in the valley even on the busiest days such as today. Fillet steak and tartiflette were very tasty
