We have eaten here a number of times now on evenings with the Ottawa Senators are playing, and the place is always packed. Expect delays to get seated if you arrive around 6 pm. It does not have a huge choice of food items, but they are varied so anyone can find something they like. As expected in a pub-style eatery at a sports arena, the food taste is average (except the springrolls ... they are excellent.)! Perhaps a close second in terms of good taste would be their Chicken tacos, but definitely stay away from their AAA Alberta Beef sandwich because it is thinly sliced pieces and the sandwich is cold. Prices of everything are expensive for what you get, but again, that's expected when eat...
Chek Point is in the Canadian Tire Centre. We were there prior to The Tragically Hip concert and the place was hopping. Food is good, surprisingly so, but service was slow. Our server was very capable and pleasant but clearly overworked. There were 3 managers standing idle, just chatting, through most of our meal so I would bet that staff aren't too thrilled with the work environment. I would definitely go again for pre-game or pre-concert eats.
We went to this restaurant before a hockey game. We ordered an onion soup which was 10.00 When the soup came, there are hardly no cheese on it. The bowl was full of bread which soaked up the juice of the soup and it had 2 thin slice of onions. I reported it to the waitress and she said sorry. She told the kitchen but they did nothing for me. DO NOT EAT THERE?
My wife and I were at the arena for a Garth Brooks concert and stopped in here for supper. The food was much better than I was expecting and it was priced really well for an arena. The staff were slammed. It was crazy busy but they were really quick getting our drinks and food out. It was a great surprise.
