I was very disappointed with my experience at Chennai Biryani House. The ambiance was poor, the place had an unpleasant smell, and the toilets had broken taps. There was no service at all—we weren’t even given plain water, and there were no glasses available. The food was bland, lacking both spice and salt. The chicken in the biryani was half-cooked; we only received two chicken drumsticks that smelled raw and mushy. The rice was sticky and unappetizing. Overall, the experience was very bad. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone—be careful with your money when choosing from their menu.

In my opinion, if you're looking for delicious, home-style food that's healthy and served in generous portions, you should definitely try Chennai Biryani House at least once. Don't worry too much about the ambiance—it's nothing exceptional, but it's decent, and after all, ambiance won’t fill your stomach. This is one of the best restaurants to try in Melbourne. Service: Dine-in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–40 Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 4/5 Highly recommended dishes include Chettinad Chicken with Rice, Non-Veg Thali, Sambar, Vada, and Parotta Curry.
