We needed to get some lunch before heading to the Train de la Rhune and after having checked out the menus at a number of places elected to eat here.Neither of us had any clue about typical Basque dishes so we both chose from the plat de jour.The salad de basque was basically a salad with some cheese and serrano ham with a balsamic vinegar dressing, so nothing special.My main dish was some kind of a cod gratin casserole which again did not set my world on fire and in fact the cod was pretty dry and tasted like it had been around for a while.My wife had a risotto which she said was mediocre.Would have been nice to have had something that was memorably Basque, but I guess that was probably our...
