I was visiting San Francisco for the first time with my two adult sons ages None of us had ever had Peking Duck, we really wanted to try it while we were in town and Chili House was recommended as a “small hole in the wall” with fantastic Peking Duck. Most restaurants require this dish to be ordered a day in advance, so I made reservations and put in our request. Chili House was FANTASTIC!! The inside of the restaurant was nothing to write home about, but certainly clean and we sat at a round table with one of those large “lazy Susans” in the middle. The service was efficient, very friendly and helpful in making our decision on whathow much to order. Every single thing we tried was delicious...

This restaurant came highly recommended to us by a friend. Well the reviews online did say that the specialty was Peking duck, we did not order this. When we arrived at the restaurant there were not many people there due to however we did notice with time there were more patrons and all of them ordered the Peking duck. The food we did order was excellent. The beef and broccoli was good as were the Xiao long bao and fried rice. We also ordered spicy clams which were excellent. As one of our guests did not like spicy food we ordered the eggplant with basil instead of eggplant with spicy garlic sauce which I thought I would be disappointed with, however it was excellent

Came for Thanksgiving. They definitely need more staff and update their reservation/waitlist system. They still use pen and paper when tablets would keep things more organized. We had a reservation, but still ended up waiting over an hour for a table because they accidentally skipped us on the paper. It was busy, so this was understandable, but they can make our lives (guests) and the limited amount of staff’s lives a whole lot easier if they just upgraded with the times.

We had heard really good things about Chili House so we were a bit disappointed by our experience. Nothing was particularly bad per se, but nothing wowed us either. The food was a bit too greasy although maybe we just happened to order the wrong set of dishes. Also, we had hoped to have the Peking duck but when we got there, we found out we had to reserve one in advance! Don’t forget to reserve a duck when you are making a reservation! Book a table now

The place from the outside looks like another hole in the wall kind of a place but don't be fooled by the looks. The food is absolutely amazing and it's one of the best Chinese restaurants I've been to in the past few years. Give it a try

Our order for Peking Duck was ignored and there was no compensation!!! I would recommend this restaurant only for Peking duck but would call before going to make sure that they will honor the request

Best Peking duck I’ve had in they city and equal to several places in China. The server had the right advice to order the duck first and then other dishes if we weren’t full. But we were!

The Peking Duck was delicious. The meat was moist and the skin crispy. The prawns are awesome and the braised fish in chili sauce. Definitely will come again. Book a table now
