I was visiting San Francisco for the first time with my two adult sons ages None of us had ever had Peking Duck, we really wanted to try it while we were in town and Chili House was recommended as a “small hole in the wall” with fantastic Peking Duck. Most restaurants require this dish to be ordered a day in advance, so I made reservations and put in our request. Chili House was FANTASTIC!! The inside of the restaurant was nothing to write home about, but certainly clean and we sat at a round table with one of those large “lazy Susans” in the middle. The service was efficient, very friendly and helpful in making our decision on whathow much to order. Every single thing we tried was delicious...
Lovely place in the Richmond Area. We reached around 30 minutes before closing and the restaurant was still relatively busy. We were seated immediately. Service was very good. Portions were large and we over ordered!! But everything was just too good. The frog legs were amazing as was the the tea smoked duck. The pork shoulder was fall off the bone tender and juicy. The Kung pao chicken was very tasty and so was the flaming beef.
We are foodies and don’t mind spending money on good quality food. While visiting SFO the Chili House restaurant kept popping up in my Facebook and thought let’s give it a try. Well we’re we ever so pleased the Peking duck and all the other foods were absolutely delicious funny thing we were a party of 3 and the waitress said we were ordering way too much food, there wasn’t a crumb left over. I highly recommend this restaurant.
My party of four, visiting from the East Coast, had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. They forgot our reservation and seated us in the back next to the kitchen. The tea smoked duck was dry and bland, and the Chow Fun noodles were all clumped together. However, the other dishes were satisfactory, particularly the Chicken Basil which I highly recommend. The service was efficient and friendly.

The place from the outside looks like another hole in the wall kind of a place but don't be fooled by the looks. The food is absolutely amazing and it's one of the best Chinese restaurants I've been to in the past few years. Give it a try
We got shoved into a smaller table for a table of 5. We felt rushed, especially since the peking duck came out before any other dishes which took up the whole table. We all wish the pacing was different of courses.
Our order for Peking Duck was ignored and there was no compensation!!! I would recommend this restaurant only for Peking duck but would call before going to make sure that they will honor the request
The Peking duck at this restaurant is amazing! Be sure to call ahead if you want to try it, but it is definitely worth it.
