I dined at this restaurant for lunch in February 2021 to experience the outdoor terrace during the pandemic. At that time, the kitchen was not operational. They adhered to a 6-foot social distancing guideline. This place offers a great opportunity to customize your meal—whether you prefer a burrito, bowl, taco, or salad, you can choose from meat or vegan options, and decide between carb or no carb. The food was fresh and flavorful. They also have a kid-friendly menu and high chairs are available. Access to the indoor area is restricted to one person at a time; you'll be given a 4-digit code at the end of your order for entry. There’s parking located in the back.
I've always enjoyed Chipotle and have visited other locations with no problems. Unfortunately, my experience at this particular location was disappointing. I had a coupon that they refused to accept, even after I spoke with the manager, who was both rude and unhelpful. They didn’t honor the coupon or offer a refund, so we chose to leave and I definitely won’t be going back to the Chipotle at 3369 Castro Valley Blvd. I did reach out to their corporate office through their website and eventually received a refund.
When you place an online order at this restaurant, you’ll receive only about a quarter of the portion you would get if you ordered in person. If you ask for corn, you can expect to receive only about 10 pieces. The accompanying photo shows just how little food you get. Furthermore, you'll have to wait around 30 minutes for your online order since there's only one person handling the mobile orders. I strongly recommend avoiding this location. It's a disappointing representation of Chipotle.

However, during my visit, I observed that two employees at the front counter kept their face masks slipping below their noses for most of the time I was there, which was about 15 minutes. This was troubling for me, and as a result, I won't be returning to this location.

I ordered fajita veggies and guacamole but didn’t receive either. I decided to give them another chance since they offered a free additional meat portion, but instead, I was only given a half portion. This restaurant was fantastic when it first opened, and there used to be a long line out the door. Unfortunately, the quality has declined and they no longer meet the usual standards. The San Leandro location is much better.
