My husband went to pick up his online order at 5:45 (a little early) that I placed before 12 noon on the same day. I received a confirmation email for the 5:45 pick up time. When he arrived, they had to remind the kitchen staff to prepare his order (2 steak pies), which resulted in the order not being ready on time. Fifteen minutes later (6pm), he asked about the status of his order only to be told it was on its way. Finally, after another 10 minutes, the order arrived 25 minutes late. There was no apology given, except for a half-hearted sorry from the employee behind the counter. I believe better customer service should have been provided. Overall, very disappointed.
We were staying for a couple of nights with our friends Lee and Tim who live in Barnhead. Tim took us to this chippy for our dinner on Friday and we then took the food to the seafront to enjoy. The staff were so friendly, helpful and all smiling. The man who was the owner (sorry didn't catch your name), greeted everyone like they were close friends. Quite a contrast to our local chippy that's for sure! We had to wait about 10 minutes, but they were really busy, so fair enough. We tried the red sausage, black pudding sausage and haggis sausage with chips and curry sauce. All were excellent and good portion sizes.
amazing fish supper. we were visiting Montrose and popped into this busy chipper, fantastic friendly quick service, great value for money, the fish was so fresh and batter perfect, chips cooked to perfection, the oil they use in Chips and Things must be the best as we didnt have any of that oily after taste. their home made tartar sauce is truly delicious.
We placed our order promptly, but had to wait approximately 25 minutes for it to be prepared. The restaurant appeared to be overwhelmed with a high volume of customers, phone orders, and deliveries. However, once we received our food, we were pleased with the delicious fish and generous portions. We really enjoyed our meal. Book a table now
Always greeted with a warm welcome from Jordan, Chloe and Caitlyn! The staff work exceptionally hard to ensure your order is taken, prepared and ready promptly. Jordan is always cheerful and quick with his great sense of humour, leaving the customers feeling great! Food is excellent, always piping hot and fresh!
£9.20 for this, Would never return. Firstly the food was terrible. I ordered a chip bun my bun was stuck to the bottom of the tray photo shows what it ended up like. Honestly wouldn’t pay 50p for the burger no sauce dry, salad or cheese was simple a burger between a bun! Terrible.
We were staying at the caravan site so this was nice and handy for take away chip dinners a couple of times for us. The chips were good and so were the smoked sausage and balck puddings. My other had the fish and that was good too.
Terrible service it took one hour for a chicken tender to be made and then the chicken was dry (if your looking for a chippy in Montrose go to the grove it’s way quicker and and the food actually tastes good. Book a table now
The food was fresh and delicious, but I couldn't believe I paid 7.20 for a battered sausage, chips, and curry sauce. The prices seemed outrageous, especially considering the low cost of the ingredients.
