INTRO: Choon Hwa Won has the BEST black bean noodles (called ja jang myun in Korean) in ALL of the DMV (Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia) area. (If you disagree, please DM me because I'm always searching for better food Not only are their portions of the black bean noodles GIGANTIC, but also their flavor is SUPERB. I've been to a few Korean restaurants where the black bean sauce hadn't penetrated the noodles, so the flavor is immensely lacking. that was my favorite Korean-Chinese restaurant before, but this place really fell off lately. Not sure whether the management or the chefs have changed, but eating is not as good as before. I ordered jangban black nudel and gan poong gi. black nudel was just okay and gan poong gi had too much brot and not enough meat. none of them tasted fresh and the chicken was fried in front of a bed. also people who work here were not friendly or attentive during dinner. it's really sad how this place has become. hopefully they can turn it around.
came here for her famous black runner noodle jajangmyeon. my friends and I have the big portion, jjam bbong with jajangmyeon and huhn tangsuyuk. the tangsuyuk was delicious. the wings were tender and very well seasoned. we ate everything and eat for 3 people. the jajangmyeon and seafood suppe was missing a little taste. my friends, and I thought eating was kind of stupid. we liked the portion size and how to make half and half combos. fun place to enjoy some authentic Korean Chinese fusion dishes.
we loved tansuyuk very much and I ordered it today for the pickup. Unfortunately, it was terrible. huh was hard to eat, very dried, and the original doesn't taste at all. will never come back
