I was pleasantly surprised by Chubby’s! Their competitor Delassandro’s (which is right across the street consistently garners much more hype praise in most people’s lists of best places to get a Philly cheesesteak) isn’t far away the better place to grab a steak. Chubby’s cheesesteak meat could maybe use a little more seasoning but when considering portion size, rolls, cheese pricing I can’t honestly say Delassandro’s is better. This is coming from a native Philadelphian. This isn’t to say Delassandro’s is trash but when you consider there’s indoor seating, a dedicated parking lot for customers, bathrooms, kitschy decor, oh the fact that Chubby’s also serves beer I can’t see how one cannot t...
My co-worker and I were in the neighborhood for work and we had driven an hour and a half and she really needed to use the bathroom. The gas station said they didn't have one and to try Chubbys next door. She ran in and asked and she was refused a bathroom and she was even WILLING TO PURCHASE FOOD and she was still told no. I get it, to us the neighborhood did seem sketchy so you don't want druggies shooting up in the bathroom. But if you look at her you could tell she was not needing it for drugs. AGAIN, she was willing to purchase food that she wasn't even going to eat and you still refused her a bathroom. So if we are ever in the neighborhood again, we will never visit your establishment....
Having talked to some locals about the best Philadelphia cheesesteak sandwich, it came down to D'Alessandro's and Chubby's. Since they were both across the street from another we got both. Just like D'Alessandro's, Chubby's was super-yummy, with everything super high quality. We'll say the Chubby's meat seemed a little more juicy like it had been mixed and steeped in the grilled onion grease making it a little more juicy. Also they take credit cards, have inside seating, full bar, t-shirts and everything else. Overall, both of them were amazing. But I bought a Chubby's t-shirt so.... AND--make sure that you ask for cheez whiz!

I used to prefer Chubby over Delessandro's but.... The last sandwich I had there was something wrong with the cheese. It gave frozen government cheese. If I come back I hope that issue is fixed.Parking: Small parking lot.Kid-friendliness: Serves liquor but other than that I believe it's kid friendly.Wheelchair accessibility: The location is small but someone in a wheelchair shouldn't have a problem getting in comfortably.
I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! I ordered my usual Steak and Provolone Cheese, and the cheese pull was amazing. The fries were also incredibly crispy and delicious. My friends and I do Philly Cheesesteak Runs from Annapolis a few times a year, and we enjoy trying different spots throughout Philly. I would rate their Cheesesteak an 8.2 out of 10 overall.
First time trying this place my friend said is he likes this place better…….i agree I even tried a frozen cocktail, I enjoyed it also! I will say their steaks have more meat than the other place…….Parking: It’s nice they have a parking lot also
Everything was delicious. Hot ,fast delivery. Very consistent. I remember from 30 years ago taste the same. I used to go here as a kid with my best friend in grade school.

Excellent food, attentive service, and a cozy atmosphere. I would give this restaurant 5 stars. Parking may be limited, with only around 10 to 12 spots available.
