ForgettableDisappointing setup inside the restaurant. We walked through the entrance and were met by a noisy scene - the kind you get in a bar or a beer hall. So much for the romantic dinner. We were seated in the corner at a large round table, again not romantic. There were 2 long tables in the centre on the restaurant that had about 10 people at each - generating the noise. It seemed the place was centred on these people mainly. There were a couple sitting adjacent to us who were clearly not impressed with the level of noise and poor service they were receiving. We walked through the entrance and were met with the same noise you would get walking into a beer hall. There were two long tables with 10 or so people at each generating the volume of noise - it was very disappointing and not the romantic setting I was hoping for to enjoy with my beautiful partner. A couple seated adjacent to us got up and left after 10 minutes because of the noise and average service. We were seated at a round table that was not what would normally be for a couple who had made a booking a week before. The food was average at best - the roast lamb was tough - requiring a steak knife to slice through the meat - and not the cutlery provided. The rib eye was dry and tasteless....
We enjoyed our food and the service was good, but I have to mention the seating. It's really inadequate! One person in the couple gets to sit on a cushioned divan, but the other has to suffer a hard old wooden chair. It gets very uncomfortable real quick. Surely it's about time these very basic chairs were updated.The couples tables are also very close together and the place is noisy, with no carpet or curtains to absorb the sound.Our lamb roasts were delicious and service was friendly and efficient.
Really lov my food and quaint surroundings in a appealing setting. We have dined here as a family with three children and as a couple and also a private Xmas function and a wedding... each time there was no complaints about food and service great quality and well priced also.

Me and my partner came here for our anniversary and the food was brilliant! The service was very quick and professional and the waitress was very nice. Be sure to book in advance for special occasions (eg Valentine's Day, Easter etc) as it books out very quickly.
The food here is exquisite. We have been here many times and this atmosphere is very romantic and staff are amazingly polite and dedicated. Can't fault this place. Looking forward to going again soon
Wow what a place. Great service. Great atmosphere. Great food. Went for a family catch up and we had a great time. Old church gives it a great touch. Food was fantastic. Highly recommended.
We regularly dine at church on palmer and can never fault their quality of food and service! Highly recommend the Pork belly with butterscotch sauce and sweet potato risotto!
