The overall service was fine. However, it did take a very long time to order then receive our food. We were placed in a very small room with a VERY loud four top table next to us. It's not the restaurants fault that they were loud and obnoxious but it certainly didn't help with our experience. The steaks were cooked correctly and tasted good but the overall experience wasn't there for me. I was excited to take my son out for a great steak and a cool experience but I can say that I was disappointed overall.
We’d been going to Kanes for nearly 40 years. Tonight we were disgusted that the bar as small as it is turned into a sports bar atmosphere with the two couples next to us being loud, crude, and showing complete disregard that we were trying to enjoy our meal. The frequent F bombs and other vulgarities do not equate to a fine dining experience. The bartender picked up on our disgust and we mentioned it to the host as well. Very disappointed if that is what our society accepts as the new norm.
This is way over rated the decor is 30+ years old we sat upstairs and it was horrible the chairs are from a ponderosa that closed 30 years ago plastic table covers the soup was from a box the tosted raves frozen from a box we both ordered the Ribeye steaks one was a half inch thicker than the other both was ordered medium and one came out well done don't waste your time or money there is know dam way they have a chef in that kitcen a line cook at best
This is not a kid friendly restaurant. The waiter was not very attentive. None of the staff was smiling, everyone looked as if they didn't want to be at work. The food was subpar. My pink lemonade martini tasted like water. Oh and the restaurant is a house. I will not return. Book a table now
Citizen Kane's has been our go-to special occasion place for 25+ years. I make a darn good steak at home, so when I order one at a restaurant, it had better be spectacular. Citizen Kane's delivers on a spectacular steak, every time.
Perfectly med rare strip steak for me and equally well prepared filet for my wife. Excellent garlic mashed potatoes. Kit did a great job taking care of us and our friends. Best steak in St Louis.
Such a great experience! We celebrated our first anniversary. The food was on point, the Server excellent and the time that we enjoyed was marvelous ?
