City BBQ, despite its urban name, is part cozy southern restaurant, with rustic wooden benches and chalkboard signs, and part industrial style, with metal lamps and fixtures. I just wanted to share our thoughts on City BBQ, which we really enjoy and our kids love as well. However, during our visit last Friday night, we ordered the judge's sampler, which includes a variety of meats: ribs, pulled pork, and brisket. Unfortunately, the brisket was quite dry that evening, and while the pulled pork was generally fine, it could have been a bit more moist. I seriously considered sending the brisket back due to its dryness, but ultimately, I didn’t. I appreciate a lean brisket with good seasoning and a nice char, but please don’t overcook it. I'm hopeful that on our next visit, the brisket will be better, especially since it takes us a good 20-25 minutes to drive to City...
Didn’t think a chain could produce such a great product. Well shame on me! Visited City bbq in Raleigh NC and had a great dinner. LoLo’s pulled pork sandwich was juicy tender and OMG flavorful. One night I had the creamy potato salad and slaw, both were excellent. Next night I went back and had two LoLo’s and had the 3 Cheese Mac-n-Cheese. Holy cow it was terrific. Wish I had a City bbq in RI. Also the staff was very friendly professional and the restaurant was very clean and well organized. Great experience. I would compare it to a Chick-fila in the manner in which they operate the business. Oh and it’s not over priced
Tasty food. They do run out of items like brisket and ribs, so go early. Best fried okra for the price. Basic multi style BBQ atmosphere. If this place gets full, it will be loud as it only has hard surfaces. I appreciated it being open on July 4th. You won't get best-of-the-best BBQ here, but they do a decent rendition of the various types. Service was quick. Good selection of diet drinks which is happily appreciated by the low carb/ diabetic crowd.Kid-friendliness: Plenty of kid friendly choices, very casual, can be loud if busy.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access, no steps, easy maneuverability

Had this place on my bucket list. I ordered a pulled chicken sandwich ? w/Mac n cheese and my custom favorite drink. The sandwich was good but the mac n cheese wasn’t freshly hot and the taste didn’t do it for me honestly it was just bland no wow factor to it or nothing that separates them from the rest of the restaurants who serves Mac n cheese. The banana ? pudding wasn’t worth $5 complete horrible in my opinion. Chicken ? leg n thigh was good. String beans was good.Overall good experience dining in, clean restaurant. Will be back to try other options.
We met friends midweek, place was not busy. Wife I split the combo platter (4 meats 2 sides. Plenty of food for the 2 of us. Staff was friendly helpful. Cashier was nice enough to check the ingredients of the sauces. It was nice enough to sit outside.Vegetarian options: No. There are other options nearby. Sprouts grocery store is in the same center.Kid-friendliness: Yes, lots of families with kids of all ages.
This BBQ place consistently delivers outstanding food. We particularly enjoy the smoked turkey and pulled pork, but honestly, every meat and poultry dish we've tried has been excellent. The French fries are top-notch, and the sides like green beans, collard greens, and baked beans are also fantastic. The staff is generally very friendly, although there have been a couple of rare exceptions at the register.
Our entire order was accurate, and they were very accommodating to a few family members with specific dietary needs. We all sat together, which created a lovely atmosphere filled with laughter and joy over some fantastic food. It truly became a core memory for us!
I had a sample plate that was not only delicious but also fed my husband and our baby. Thank you, City BBQ, for making our reunion special!

The pulled pork is amazing, the macaroni and cheese is absolutely perfect, and the potato salad is even better than my mom's! As for the banana pudding, I can't quite say it's better than my mom's, but it's fantastic!
The hush puppies and fries were tasty, but the fried chicken in both the sandwich and tenders were so incredibly overcooked. The tenders especially were inedible and we couldnt even finish them.
