Civico 14 is not a restaurant that you bump into while walking downtown San Sebastian. You have to look for it, you have to know it from its exclusiveness; and that 's what we did with a couple of friends... 2 nights in a row, during a long weekend in Donostia. We wandered in on a Friday night, and were immediately greeted by the friendly staff and incredible aroma of fresh pasta. The restaurant was filling up quickly (although it was only 8 pm) but we managed to snag a table. We let ourselves be carried away by the good reviews in crewman, leaving it as the second best place to dine in San Sebastian, and the truth has left us a little disenchanted. to start the location with the potential of this city is in an area that looks quite little, the local is quite simple, the typical bathrooms of old humble house. the food is quite good, although little amount for prices, the little extended letter, the attention is good. In short, it does not eat bad, but to be in San Sebastián you can easily find places that eat better in places of much more charm.
In my third visit to the Civic14 the same sensations were repeated as in the previous occasions: correct treatment and exceptional dishes. It is not an Italian restaurant, like those in which an endless ristra of pasta dishes, risotto and pizzas accumulate. Another positive aspect of your kitchen is that you change the menu periodically. Right!
a simple but effective kitchen. original flavors and a good balance between dishes. For dessert, an ice cream has balsamic vinegar vanilla, a delight!the waiter was friendly without being too present. For me, one without fault. Too bad we found out at the end of the stay.
