I wish everyplace i went on a daily basis was as excellent as clark white diamond! There are places that you come across in life that seem out of place in a great way. This is one of those places, the food is prepared for the complete satisfaction of the customer. That is to say it tastes soo good because the people who own and work here understand that food is to be enjoyed not calorie counted or fat content checked, most is FRIED, yea fried! If thats scary and you hate food that tastes great then go to a salad bar and let your taste buds go to sleep. But for the last 55 years on and off I’ve eatin here and never been disappointed,i hope its here for future generations.
The Taylor ham and cheese sandwiches are divine! The thin slices are fried to perfection. My husband always orders the burgers and is always satisfied (then he steals half of my Taylor ham!). The staff is welcoming and efficient. We visited on an incredibly hot day and quickly made our way to the back to sit by the ice-cold air conditioning—it felt like heaven! The prices are fantastic, but keep in mind that they only accept cash (they do have an ATM inside). The Diamond is truly a gem of a place… sorry for the pun!
New review 7/2/24. HORRIBLE Taylor Ham egg whites. They changed a to a hamburger roll of a low quality from the usual hard roll. Had to throw out the roll. Call before you order to see if the hard rolls are back. I would have given a higher rating on service if they told us the truth about the rolls before I ordered. Previous review: Good today. Much better than my review below from the last time. Hot dog roll was stale. First time this ever happened.
The place is very Old American, Cash only The flavor was on point, first time been here, the one thing or my only complain is the size of the meat patty, i understand the whole smash burger deal, but damn at one point i felt like i was chewing on bread and mayo no meat.

As for parking, the number of spots is limited but usually sufficient. The restaurant has only a few booths, yet it’s generally accommodating for families. The menu is very kid-friendly too!
Quaint and strikingly old-fashioned. Typical New Jersey diner. Good food and service. I would recommend at least a visit for the experience.
Jersey Burger with eggs, Taylor ham, and cheese on top of a burger. It's truly the only decent food you can find on Central Ave.
We need more family-owned burger joints in New Jersey if you haven't tried this place I don't know what you're waiting for
