The coffee and cakes are OK assuming you can ever get served. Service is at a glacial pace and there's frequently just one very slow person serving, even at busy times of the day, while a queue stretches out onto the High Street. And this means tables don't get cleaned very often or very thoroughly. If you're in a wheelchair, the tables are packed too close together (so much for social distancing) at the front of the cafe and because of the constant queue, getting past to go to the back where there's more room is very difficult. If you're disabled and have trouble standing, don't even bother, given the length of the queue and the speed at which it moves. I've been to other Coffee #1 branches...

Me and partner came for a light snack and a drink. As pub managers, we were shocked at how poor the service was and how poorly managed your team are. Two members of staff were rushing around, completing all the orders, while a young blonde ignores customer to restock the cakes (which did not need restocking). As much as we see the importance in the job, far too many people were in the queue for that job to be prioritised. We almost walked out due to the lack of service. We do not recommend coming here if you just want a quick drink and welcoming service!!!
I visited coffee#1 in Tewkesbury on Monday 22nd August to be faced by a very rude woman behind the counter speaking horribly to any one who spoke to her (customers and staff). When I got to being served I ask to speak to the manager about it but when I was told it was the rude woman I decided not to speak to her. Why anybody would work for that rude and horrible person god only knows as the other staff working are really pleasantl and welcoming. If this is the sort of manager you want to run your shops you don’t deserve loyal staff or customers.
My family and I visited this restaurant on Saturday morning and were met with rudeness from the female manager (I believe her name was Sandra). She informed us that we would have to wait as she was busy. When she finally attended to us, her service was abrupt and she seemed annoyed when we ordered additional drinks. She spoke to us condescendingly and slammed the drinks on the counter before saying, "there". Overall, we felt like we were a bother to her and will not be returning to this restaurant, especially when this manager is on duty. Book a table now
Went in on Boxing Day ! Should’ve been shut and I shouldn’t of gone in, nevertheless I’m glad I did. Not only did the lady serving on her own do a terrific job, she opened up early (30 mins) as she said there were a few customers waiting ! She multi tasked and kept the massive queue ticking over nicely. Coffee was very good as well! The ladies name is Sandra and she is the most efficient barrister I’ve ever seen. Thumbs up
This is my second visit to the restaurant this week and I have to say, the staff was not up to par. There was only one team member working the till, serving food and drinks, and there were queues out the door. It took 20 minutes to get a latte on both occasions, even though there was only one person in front of me. On Sunday, the poor lady was clearly overwhelmed as the other team member left at 2 pm.
I had a negative experience at this restaurant due to a very rude woman who turned out to be the manager. It was clear from reading other reviews that I was not the only one who had this experience. The other staff also did not seem happy, which is no surprise given the management. It's unfortunate.
Lovely staff serving today. We went in for coffee and a relax with our small dog. The service was excellent and the delicious coffee made exactly how we requested. I find the food selection good, if very overpriced. Very clean premises inside. Would certainly return when next visiting Tewkesbury. Book a table now
Experience very much depends on who is 'on duty ' sometimes very good, sometimes it is though they couldn 't care less whether you were a customer or not.
Bigger than the one that I have been to in Pershore possibly more choice. The kids enjoy popping in for a gingerbread while I have a coffee.
