We went for dinner today and it was a disappointing experience. The beef was tough and chewy, and the mashed potatoes tasted like instant mix. I ordered the steak pie, which was dry, the chips were equally dry, and the peas were cold. All four of us left most of our meals. When we told the waiter about it, he just said he would pass the comments on to the chef. Overall, it felt like a waste of £80. After returning to our caravan, my husband became violently ill, and the rest of us felt unwell as well. We will not be returning to this restaurant. It was lovely the last time we visited two years ago.
We had a disappointing experience from beginning to end. The premises are in dire need of a complete refurbishment, and the staff could benefit from training in basic hospitality skills. The rooms are in poor condition, with broken locks and an overall lack of cleanliness. The staff seemed unsure of their roles, and the breakfast service was a complete mess on both days we were there. As a result, we chose not to dine in for dinner. It’s unfortunate because the place has potential, but it really needs improvement. We left feeling disappointed and frustrated. Rooms: 1, Service: 1, Location: 4.
What can I say? This was our second stay at the Commodore Hotel in Grange, and once again, we were not disappointed. We stayed in the Porthole Room, which offered a fantastic view, along with a comfortable bed and a lovely atmosphere. We enjoyed breakfast at the Winter Reservoir, a delightful three-course dinner, and a few drinks as well. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the food was simply amazing. I truly feel that they have perfected our experience, and I can't think of any improvements needed. Many thanks! x Book a table now
After staying at a local hotel with poor quality food we went in search of something decent to eat… honestly this place outshone our expectations! The food was lovely and they are really conscientious with food allergies! Great service (even though it was busy! , great staff and decent prices. Best gluten free fish and chips i’ve ever had.
This is a great pub and restaurant, and one of the few places that could accommodate our large group of 18 for an evening meal. The staff were friendly, and the food was excellent. While the ground floor was a bit loud when we arrived, the restaurant on the upper floor was pleasant and quiet.
What a hidden gem! The food here is amazing and incredibly fresh—no frozen or deep-fried dishes in sight. The portions are generous, and if your kids enjoy cake, they'll absolutely love this pub. The staff is very friendly, and you definitely get great value for your money.
Went to The Commodore Inn for our evening meal and drinks on our first nights stay in Grange Over Sands . Both my wife and I ordered the Whale and chips . Nice meal that we both enjoyed and a good selection of beers on offer too . A nice experience Book a table now
Bar staff and manager were easy to go. the room could have been a little cleaner. mainly in the bathroom. but besides that more than happy. location was especially good for the view and a walk
