After recently relocating to Dunedin, we decided to try out Cricketer’s Pub, and it has certainly exceeded our expectations! We've returned several times since our initial visit. The atmosphere is delightful, and each time we've been there, the staff has been exceptionally attentive to our needs (a special shoutout to Megan!). The standout feature, without a doubt, is the food. We've tasted a variety of dishes from the menu, and everything we’ve tried has been satisfying. The prices are fantastic, especially given the generous portion sizes. While the fish is excellent, I highly recommend giving the salad a try as well!
I'm happy we decided to leave. The location was convenient right after we left the beach. Our server, Megan, was friendly and charming. However, the place didn't quite capture the ambiance of a British pub or restaurant. I did enjoy the Shandy they made for me. I ordered the bangers and mash but was a bit let down by the sausages; they didn't taste authentic and were overcooked. The gravy and peas were good, though. We'll come back to try something different next time.
I took refuge from the storm at this restaurant, which had just a few people inside. Butch, the bartender, was fantastic—funny, capable, and attentive, making sure everything ran smoothly. Although I didn't eat there, I noticed they serve packed sandwiches. You can place your order by 9:30, and I believe they stay open until 10 during the week. I'll definitely be coming back!
The haddock fish strips were truly delightful, and the portion size was generous. They were cooked perfectly. The potato skins were flavorful as well, although the serving size was somewhat small. Unfortunately, the clam strips were not available due to supply issues. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience.

Nice place with British fare. Nice server, good portions! Just a shame older bldgs think a tiny stall wears equates to wheelchair accessible Wheelchair accessibility: Not. Should be, 3 stalls could easily be reconfigured to accommodate wheelchair.
the food was outstanding. a little mishap with a waitress spilling a whole drink on my husband's lap. we laughed about it and the poor lady felt pretty bad. LOL. **** happens. absolutely love the place
The cod fish and chips were the best I've ever had. Our waitress, Brie, delivered outstanding service. I strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking delicious UK comfort food.
Shawn was our host, and he is truly a wonderful asset to this restaurant. We ordered the cod, and it exceeded our expectations—definitely a 10 out of 10! It was fantastic!
