The server was outstanding, very kind and attentive. The food was decent, but it seemed like most of it was reheated rather than fresh. However, the special Ham and beans dish I ordered was fresh and fantastic. I recommend sticking to the specials for a better dining experience. The restaurant has a charming interior and outdoor seating area, although it was slightly marred by flies and gnats inside. They have recently opened a new location downtown, and it seems like they may be focusing their energy on that.
We passed by the Cross-eyed Cricket for years always saying we wanted to see what it was about. Well 3-4 yrs ago we finally stopped and have been back many many times now. I always want to try something different but end up getting the Cricket Melt lol sadly I didn't get a pic of it but the pic I did get was the bread Pudding that is absolutely uh-mazing! The service is awesome, the food is so good and the place is so cute! I highly recommend the Cross-eyed Cricket!
I'm glad I decided to visit this restaurant. The food was delicious and tasted like homemade cooking. The service was excellent, and the strawberry roll was especially delicious. I'm looking forward to coming back for breakfast. I appreciated the Christian values and messages present in the restaurant. I couldn't resist taking home a dozen rolls and a pint of strawberry butter for Monday's workday – it was so tasty! YUM!
We met family there and the 4 of us got right in even though it was packed inside and out. The service was good considering the crowd and we were in no hurry. They had not anticipated the size of the crowd so cleanup was a little slow but we think they did well. Restroom was very clean. The food was very very good and plentiful and the prices were very reasonable. We’ll be back for sure.

I do want to say, it’s been 16 years since I myself physically been in here, before stopping in to pick up a carry out last week, I love the upgrades, it looked really nice! We were seated outside the bathrooms, literally 5 feet from the bathroom doors, and it smelled bad. The food took forever. 15 minutes before they brought the salad out, and another 15 before the food came out. It was good, thus 2 stars.
Food is was good but it’s very awkward not having any music on in a restaurant. Also within a minute of our food being set down, we had 10+ flies circling the food and landing on it. We lost our appetites and didn’t finish our food.
My husband and I had dinner at the Cross-Eyed Cricket and we would highly recommend this cozy little restaurant. The food was homemade and delicious. We both ordered the beef Manhattan and absolutely enjoyed it.
