It's just a small walk from the main shops. It was quite empty when we came today for lunch. I had booked beforehand and was told I could take my pick with the seating. I was a bit disappointed that they have now stopped the senior menu that they used to have but apparently it's no longer available. Anyway I ordered the chicken shawarma on naan and it was quite good. Service was good and meals arrived fairly quickly. Reasonable range of Real ales and beers. Good value for money. They have a large beer garden at the front and another one at the rear. The car park is quite large and should have no problem finding a space.
The cross house used to be a regular drinking station for me but haven’t been in years. Took some friends for a bite to eat to see how the place has changed. Pleased to report the standards are higher than ever. The food arrived promptly and exceeded expectations. A variety of beer was also on offer to wash it down! Friendly staff and a beautiful pub, what more can you ask for?
Over an hour wait to be served on Sunday with rock hard beef and 4 roast spuds for the price I was shocked. The beef was inedible an the spuds tasted like they had been sat under the warm light. Safe to say I couldn't eat it and it got sent back. The manager was great though we got a full refund back for all of our meal. Sorry but we definitely won't be returning.
Shocking service. Left after an hour waiting for second half of meal. Requested refund. Excuse that was given was I went on my break really so everything comes to a stand still because a member of staff went on his break. I won 't be going back.

2nd visit here. Nice large car park. Friendly welcome, nice atmosphere, dog friendly with treats, water bowls and doggy menu. Excellent pub food, we had beyond buger with rosemary and sea salt fries, fish and chips. Definitely recommend
Long wait on food seemed to be short staffed however Matty our server work so hard running around trying really hard to resolve any issues... he is a credit to this place and deserves recognition
Had a nice meal and a drink at the cross house today cheese and bacon burger with fries was really good staff friendly and helpful lots of free parking on site would recommend
Thoroughly enjoyed my visit at The Cross House over the bank holiday weekend. Excellent food and drink with tremendous service. Will be back again soon!

This pub is nice, but our table wasn't ready when we arrived. The staff was polite, however the food was not good value for the price.
This restaurant is excellent. I have always eaten there and will continue to do so whenever I visit Formby.
