Came here twice during the second week of November: both times a really good experience. I don't remember when I was last being here before the recent refurb, they have done a great job: The Crown is still a really attractive traditional pub, great vibe, good pint. The issue with the menu is that it's impossible to make a choice: everything looks good, I'd like to spend some time here and work my way through the menu. Sunday lunch very good, steak pie likewise: I was tempted by all of the vegetation dishes. Dog friendly bar (suits me) and a dog free restaurant. Our friend, visiting from Canada was hugely impressed.
Ordered drinks at the bar. Went back to order a single glass of rose wine. Was advertised for £8.65 for a large glass, but for some reason was then charged £9.20 Asked why the price was different to advertised and was told the brewery must have changed the price without telling them?? Very strange. If you visit this pub, check the price of your drinks when you order, as they seem to charge what they want, and advertise different costs for the drinks.
We stayed overnight at this bed and breakfast and it was absolutely beautiful. The room was gorgeous and we loved the furnishings. The bed was the most comfortable we've ever slept in! We had an evening meal at the pub, which we booked in advance, and enjoyed the delicious food. The breakfast had a lot of choices and was lovely. The staff were very friendly and the location was excellent. We hope to visit again in the future.
Decided to have an evening meal here. Was firstly ignored at the bar because the barman decided that chatting to someone else was his preferred option. My steak was not medium cooked and that’s how I asked it to be prepared. Too much gristle on the meat. The mushroom was cold. My Partners peas came as mushy when she had asked for garden peas. They were also cold. Not a very good standard across the board.

Lovely food, we had the BLT and the cheese and chutney sandwich. Very nice sandwiches, came with chips and a pot of coleslaw too. Staff weren’t too happy when giving us cutlery and serving the food, not sure if it was because we ordered just as they were meant to stop serving food but a smile wouldn’t have gone a miss. Other than that was very nice and also dog friendly!
Stayed here for a couple of nights and had breakfast and dinner. Pub and rooms recently renovated. Great atmosphere and well kept beer in the pub. Rooms clean and spacious. Breakfast was well cooked and dinner was great pub food. Staff friendly and attentive.Hope to go back soon.
The food was very nice, the staff were polite and very attentive but the evening spoilt by three locals sat at the bar using foul language. The lady behind the bar did ask them to stop but it continued! Not a very good experience. Why is this tolerated by The Crown?
We stayed at the Crown for three days during October. The room was newly decorated and very well appointed. Diane and the rest of the team were very helpful and friendly. All the meals were of high quality and there was an excellent choice of beers.

Lovely pub with spectacular food. Good value for money with daily offers. The service was friendly and speedy. Dog friendly. Overall a lovely lunch out!
