We were left with a really lovely impression of this place. The staff were friendly, welcoming and always cheerful, the food was delicious, and the starters were so generous in size that you could almost fill up on them alone! The atmosphere was very pleasant and everything felt really enjoyable. We were also allowed to come in with our dog without any problem. We were seated in the bar area, but that did not spoil the experience at all it was still very cosy, comfortable and had a great vibe. Overall, we had a wonderful time and I would definitely recommend visiting this restaurant and bar.
There's truly no place like Daffodil in Cardiff, likely the only independent Welsh restaurant/bar in the city center. Their menu features a variety of Welsh products, and both the food and service are top-notch. We fully embraced the Welsh experience, starting with the Rarebit croquettes accompanied by spiced pear chutney, followed by the perfectly cooked Welsh rack of lamb. To maintain the Welsh theme, I finished with the Welsh cheese board. I've visited several times now and will keep coming back. Keep up the fantastic work—you'll see me again soon! Mitchell
We booked here for two before the Frank Turner gig at Cardiff Castle. Absolutely stunning location and close to the main centre of Cardiff. We had the sourdough for a grazer which was incredible, followed by Scotch egg which was by far the best scotch egg I have ever had!! This was followed by the lamb burger that was so succulent and tasty and a great portion size. If anyone is going to Cardiff and wants a nice restaurant off the beaten track, highly recommend the Daffodil.

Service and atmosphere were ok. The food was not so great. Lamb burgers were cooked well beyond well done to the point were there were very dry. The cod was over salty. The lamb stew had 3 tiny pieces of lamb in it that it should have been called veg stew. The scotch egg had a thick pork cover that was barely acceptably cooked. Overall the kitchen was under performing.
Was highly recommended as a place for a good roast dinner. Our server was lovely, very attentive but not over powering, sadly I didnt take her name, young lady very curly hair. Food was good, only suggestion I would give to make the gravy thicker, but that's a personal choice .

Very good food. Maybe meze would be much better without stoned toasts. Everything else perfect. Little longer than usual to wait for order food but nothing to complain about. Enjoy this evening.

Perfect place for a lovely lunch and a few drinks. Menu had plenty of choice and the food was tasty. Service was great. On our next visit to Cardiff we will definitely return!
