we came here for lunch after we arrived in hamburg, and this was a great introduction to the fantastic food offered in this city! my man had sea salmon with kartoffel salad and I had fishfrikadellen with pommes frites. the portions were very generous, the fish was perfectly prepared and tasted wonderfully fresh. it is a very busy restaurant, but the service was fast and our waiter spoke great English. I would definitely recommend it for lunch only that they do not accept cards, it is only cash.
If they like fish, they don't see. the restaurant offers a beautiful selection of fishing. the fish is well prepared, I chose to break cadry, with a side of carrots and homemade remoulade-fantastic meal. you have the opportunity to eat in the...bistro area or eat the front of the restaurant where they don't get the bistro menu. very good value for money associated with a very friendly service makes this a place definitely worth visiting.
the restaurant daniel wiper is certainly a part of the hamburger tradition. after decades in the spitaler road they had to move. now they are right on the left side of the Rathaus. who doesn't like fish shouldn't look over there, but whoever likes fish must visit this traditional restaurant. I had the fish soup this time - the big portion. this suppe is very well seasoned and simply packed with fish. you will love it!
we came here after we had seen some good critikens about the restaurant, but were unfortunately disappointed. we came here after 13 o'clock, but there was still a lot of going on. the service takes some time and the seating area is quite tight. fish was not the freshest I tried in Germany, even in comparison to inner cities. I would not recommend this place for serious fish lovers. Book a table now
we have eaten here with a group of friends during a holiday period for hamburg to evening, so the place was not too crowded. I had an excellent fish soup, but also typical “Matjes” preparations and other very German fish preparations were available and were appreciated by my friends. very nice staff and very reasonable prices
Tolles Restaurant mit schneller und freundlicher Bedienung. Das Essen wurde zügig serviert und war geschmacklich hervorragend. Zudem überzeugt das Restaurant mit einem ansprechenden Ambiente, in dem man sich rundum wohlfühlt. Klare Empfehlung für alle, die guten Service, leckeres Essen und eine angenehme Atmosphäre schätzen!
Gutes Fischrestaurant gleich hinter dem Hamburger Rathaus. Das Ambiente ist nett, bei den Gästen hatten wir den Eindruck es war gut gemischt aus Touristen und Einheimischen. Das Mittagessen (Kabeljau mit Senfsoße, Scholle mit Krabben) hat uns gut geschmeckt. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Die Preise waren angemessen.
typical German kitchen in an ambiente that corresponds to a modern mini beer hall. the service is somewhat slow, probably because we were touristing. we had fish soup best plate of the evening and grilled salmon and local plaice. both were better than sufficient. Book a table now
The fried fish variety platter was bland and the fries are super salty. I’m from a city that loves Seafood (Seattle USA). Maybe the grilled fish is better. Others have said service was great and the place was full not the night I went.
