I guess I have eaten in this restaurant at least once a year for about 15 years. Same owner/chef, and also serves behind the bar. This is a very small quiet village. Never busy and I prefer to eat in the bar area, get to greet a few locals, travellers etc. look at the pictures in the local news paper. Years ago meet a group on walking pilgrimage here. Tasty, well prepared, provincial cuisine that is becoming rare in France. Cooked and served by the owner. We really enjoyed this visit. Tiny village we picked out with a pin. Perhaps because of that it was a bit too quiet in the restaurant. Five or six good choices for each course, all freshly cooked and well presented. Friendly patron, but you do need a smattering of French at least. We will go again and will take friends. A drink before, a glass of wine each with, and three courses for the two of us. €42. Loved it.
Very simple restaurant of institution and everything's dated, but that's just the nice test this restaurant has. No menu card. The wife of the house is the menu card. She tells me what the cook can make. We picked steak fries and a house wine. Everything was really good. I'm sure you're a hit man when you're around. The cheese casserole for dessert is also a rapist.
Nothing too fancy just great tasting food. We go to this restaurant twice a year, spring and autumn, when we go to the garden centre in the village. It is a no nonsense little restaurant where the food is nearly always very tasty. Never seen it busy so always amazed at the range offered in the menu.

ultimate comfort moment after a rainy ride in the morvan. a chef with little care and happy to share his family and copier cuisine in a vintage setting. don't pay a mine, but it was a very pleasant moment.
