Surprisedly, very authentic Japanese food! Main dish was cold which reminding me having Bento on ship in Japan years ago. I purchased 3 side dishes, one main dish with Rice. This is the first time ever for me to have a taste of real Japanese traditional side dishes in US. The kind of seaweed mix with sesame is uncommon. It said 2 side dishes, but it is actually 3, with a thick thin sliced seaweed cold mix with soy sauce paste. I have chicken tofu for main dish, the taste is all well balanced. To be exact this place is located inside the Ferry Building in San Francisco. Three stars for now. We came in to this Japanese Deli at the latter part of the afternoon so the food maybe not be as fresh as if you were to come earlier in the day. We came for dinner. They serve bento box like meals, small plates and some sushi, other stuff, and drinks. We got some sushi, a small plate of curry beef with rice, and a potato/vegetable fry thing. The food was okay. This is fantastic potato cakes all of the Japanese inspired dishes are fabulous I had the tofu and chicken dumplings the spicy tuna and whatever my wife was eating. We got them as bento boxes so their rice was awesome they put a lot of sesame seeds on it so if you don?t like that or you have diverticulitis you better tell them ahead of time and then They?ll probably still do it but then They?ll take it off, they?re cool. I said it was fantastic I mean it. we?re going back up in July and we?re going to go there again, in fact that?s why I?m on the site; I was looking to see if there was a particular time they were slow?so get there early stay late maybe bring a wheelchair and eat too much.

Delica is a great spot to grab Japanese prepackaged or hot prepared food inside the Ferry Building. It gets busy around noon on weekdays, but the line moves quickly. I ordered a salmon onigiri for $3 and a regular-sized Japanese beef curry for $13.50. The curries come in regular and large portions. When you reach the front of the line, you can choose from a variety of prepackaged items like onigiri, croquettes, rolls, and bentos. There’s no indoor seating available, but you can sit outside by the ferry or inside near the bookstore. I shared the curry with my sister; while I wished there was more beef, it was still tasty.
Please take this review with a grain of salt, as I'm not a big fan of sushi or Japanese cuisine in general. The menu felt somewhat limited, especially the bento box options. Surprisingly, the sweet and spicy chicken exceeded my expectations. The green bean salad was the best salad choice, though not particularly memorable. The shrimp cakes were tasty and had a nice crunch. My favorite was the mushroom curry, which had subtle flavors and was quite satisfying. The delivery and preparation were prompt. Overall, I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here, but if I did, I’d choose the curry again.
We tried their new niku udon, beef curry, sweet and spicy chicken, and avocado rolls—all absolutely amazing. I would definitely recommend Delica if you’re visiting the Ferry Building. They didn’t have any tables available when we arrived, but you can enjoy your delicious meal outside at the public tables and chairs.
Stopped by and picked up the original 5 piece bento box with a croquette, meatball, hiiiii salad, burdock salad, and some avocado sushi it was a delicious snack I split with a friend. Very light and fresh and flavorful

Been to this place for bento lunches. Their various bento are surprisingly good. Their udon soup is not bad, just okay. I would eat here again if passing through on a ferry.
Sooo good. I have missed a good Japanese lunch box place ever since leaving Japan. Got 9 piece lunch box. Healthy and yummy
