The two of us went for dinner. The room is a little antiseptic but the tables are well separated: the antithesis of the American Experience. The food was outstandingly cooked and beautifully presented. So what went wrong? Nothing except we don't do complicated and we don't do chichi. There were simply too many differing flavours and attention grabbers in every dish. It's not that we are meat and potatoes lovers either. We like elegance, simplicity and craftsmanship in food, wine, fashion, architecture, music and art. Didier de Courten has all of that to a great degree except simplicity. The service between the dishes is very slow, we had the set menu (180. and it took us two hours to get everything served without taking coffee afterwards. I wanted to have another bite of a cheese that I discovered and the waiter pretended not to understand what I meant whereas he surely didn 't want me to have a second serving. Maybe that 's the case everywhere, you can 't get a second helping, no matter the little portion you had first. And the desert was far too sweet for my taste. No strong taste throughout the meal. But the scallops and the filet de St Pierre were delicious.

Fantastic food and service was very good. No repetition of ingredients or flavor profiles. Very nice presentation as well from start to finish. The only two things I found disappointing where the STAPLED WOODEN band used for the dessert and the spruce twig on the plate as well. These are not edible, staples can be dangerous if consumed and was the last thing I would expect to have at a two Michelin star restaurant. They food was still very good, just a pity to have the last course with wood and staples.

We were on an organized tour where the food selections were good to pretty good. This restaurant was a nice change and we wish we could have come for a second sitting. The flavors and presentation were superb, and if I could only remember all the details. Suffice to say that if you are within 30 km of this town you must stop in.
