Diogenis - Table reservation

Greek hospitality, familiar, authentic, that is the Greek restaurant “Diogenis” at Sudermanplatz in Cologne. Through two friends who have been regular guests for decades, I met the family-run restaurant. The typical bright white interior offers various seating for small groups and reminds of a Greek tavern. The restaurant also has a large terrace right at Sudermanplatz in front of the restaurant. Grilled but also delicious specialties of Greek cuisine are authentic and typical prepared and served here. Eating here is like visiting Greece. Everything's done. During my first visit the shop was full of half the guests were Greeks. If that's not a good sign. The food came very fast and tasted great. The service was also very friendly. All in all very big cinema!!! Anyone hoping for more Greek cuisine than Gyros and Tzatsiki should come here.

We arrived early doors and got seated outside as it was a warm evening. The waiter was friendly and helpful although no English was spoken. The food was excellent, it arrived quickly too. Couldn't fault it at all. The restaurant is tucked away from the maddening crowds on a square where people milled about.

Neighborhood stronghold preparing average Greek food (grilled meat and fish, mostly) to a nondescript clientele. The staff is nice and so is their terrace.

We went for dinner but didn't have a reservation, They very kindly found us a table, The food was very good. It is cash only, no credit cards.
