I have know about this place for what seems like forever and just never stopped in. To start the customer service was stellar. The chips salsa were on point, very good flavor with just a bit of spice. The seating was comfortable with indoor and outdoor options. Appetizers: Chile Con Queso. 8/10 Creamy melted cheese with peppers. Had the large order with taco meat and there was none left at the end, really good queso. I haven't visited this place in years, but my child and I decided to stop by after swim lessons. The vegetarian fajitas were delicious, and they cooked the onions perfectly. Both the toddler and I really enjoyed the salsa and the ceiling decorations. The service was quick, and the waiter promptly brought everything I requested and refilled my drinks efficiently. The guacamole was a bit bland, but it was easily improved with some salt and lemon. We'll definitely be returning, especially because the flour tortillas were incredibly soft!
Very delicious colorful. The manager or owner helped us feel secure that our food would be prepared carefully, as we had a couple of allergies we were worried about. The word could have smiled once, but the orders were correct. The restaurant is delightful. Seems clean tended. There is even a special windowed room where we can watch a pretty lady freshly make tortillas. The servings are each enough for 2 people. If you don't share, there'll be leftovers. I'd love to make this place a favorite on my list.
I sat there for about 10 minutes for lunch without any service—no water, chips, or salsa were brought to my table. They were too busy singing Happy Birthday. By the time I got up to leave, the waitress finally approached me and asked what I wanted. I told her that I had changed my mind about eating. I've dined here a few times before and had better service. However, I must say that the food in the past has been delicious.

I want to begin by mentioning that I visited on Cinco de Mayo! The food was quite good, and the nachos were definitely my favorite. We even tried the shot with the worm, but honestly, it was awful—I'd rate it a 12/10 for not recommending it! The atmosphere was pretty loud; we had to shout just to have a conversation. The service wasn't the best, but I can overlook that since they were extremely busy.
Delicious food and incredible service! We made a reservation to celebrate our son's birthday and were pleased to find our table ready upon arrival. Our server, Taylor, was extremely attentive and ensured our 2-year-old grandson stayed safe from any hazards (like hot plates). The food was excellent, and Taylor truly made it a memorable occasion! I loved everything about this restaurant, from the delicious food and excellent service to the cleanliness and reasonable prices. The Don'Key Mexican Restaurant is a fantastic dining spot that I highly recommend trying. You won't be disappointed!
The food was not in great condition when we got home. Maybe this Tex-Mex is best enjoyed in a dining-in setting? I'm not sure, but there are so many Tex-Mex and Mexican restaurants in Houston that I probably won't give this place another try.
