We live out of state, and every time we come in Illinois to visit my family, we always stop at this location to get these amazing donuts. Monday, October 9 we get there at 12:15 PM and they had not a single donut left!! Mind you we’ve been to this location at different times they always have donuts. So we ask them is there anyway they can make more donuts and they said no and told us it would take three hours to make donuts? Three hours for donuts and all we wanted was specifically two donuts. That was the biggest disappointment of my life and the fact that I came all the way out of state just to find out they had no donuts had me so mad.
Do-Rite feels more like a cozy restaurant situated within a gas station rather than just a pit stop. The atmosphere was incredibly welcoming and impeccably clean. Although I didn’t sample the chicken or breakfast sandwiches, the donuts were absolutely amazing. I enjoyed the apple cider donut, which was fresh and generously sized. Plus, I appreciated that coffee is only $1 when you purchase a donut. Overall, it was a delightful experience!
The donuts and Dark Matter coffee are excellent, and I particularly enjoy the unique flavor of the vegan orange donut, along with the seasonal varieties. However, I found the chicken sandwich to be quite disappointing—it doesn't come close to Chicago's best chicken. The breakfast sandwich was also lacking. This is a great spot for donuts and coffee, but not the best choice for sandwiches.
Purchased 2 chicken sandwiches from here today and they were uncooked which resulted in me getting sick. I realized after taking the first bite that it was very pink discarded the rest but unfortunately it was too late. Book a table now
Coffee was okay- but I ordered a mocha, and the tank was out, so I think they just threw whatever together. The sandwich was amazing, however.
The apple cider donut is phenomenal and the staff were friendly! Love that coffee is $1 if you buy a donut as well.
Donuts are made by hand and are fresh every morning. They are also highly addictive.
$60 for two dozen donuts is a bit steep, but they are definitely delicious! Book a table now
