Funny, the providers are trying to reconcile renovation and looking after guests. That means you live in one room, the wall is being painted in the other :D Nonetheless, a nice spot The only thing that was annoying was the long wait at breakfast and that the waiter chatted with someone for 10 minutes in the evening before she came to us. But the service during breakfast is all the more friendly and ingenious. @our waiter during breakfast who performed us the poem about haggis: you are awesome and deserve a raise!!
Wonderfully authentic, Scottish, small hotel, run with love. Simple and cozy. Clean, beautiful rooms, with direct lake views and 50 steps to Eileen Donan Castle. At breakfast you will be asked personally what you want (bacon, fried or scrambled eggs, beans, porridge) and how much. Fresh coffee and toast at the table. Fruit, yoghurt, red fruit jelly, flakes, milk and juices at the buffet. Warm and up for a humorous chat. Felt comfortable all around and would love to come back.
While visiting Scotland we met very kind people. The staff at this quaint hotel tops the list of thoughtful people. My daughter and I arrived at midnight with a tow truck. They were right outside helping with the car and carried luggage to the room. The next day a nice young man drove us to pick up the repaired car. The breakfast is delicious. The setting is lovely and walking distance to the castle. Rooms: 4
I dined at the hotel restaurant during my stay in the area. The cuisine was outstanding, easily one of the top meals I enjoyed on my NC500 journey. The staff were welcoming and attentive, much appreciated! Rating: 5 for Service and Location. Hotel features: Wonderful views, peaceful atmosphere, excellent value for the price.

The chairs were all covered with crumbs and there was rubbish on the floor. The food was very average for the price. We were not given side plates for our bread and the wine that was ordered did not arrive. The meal was okay but not exceptional, so it was more the service and cost that was the issue.
Excellent restaurant with a modern twist on traditional Scottish dishes. The portions are generous and the service and location both receive a top rating of 5.
