I grew up in New England, but I’ve made Charleston my home for the past five years. I don’t often share my thoughts, but I feel compelled to share my experience at Dunleavy's. It’s what I would describe as a “pink hat Boston bar.” If you’re a newcomer from New England, you’ll understand what I mean. Don’t waste your time if you’re a true sports fan looking for an authentic game-watching experience. Their excessive security feels unnecessary, and while they try to create a fun atmosphere with sports banners, it doesn’t cater to real sports enthusiasts. If you’re seeking a good time, I recommend looking elsewhere.
Our family loves this place!! It has become part of every trip we make to the Charleston and Sullivan's Island area. As a transplanted Massachusetts resident and Red Sox fan it always gives a little taste of home every time we step in the doors. Over the years we have tried most of their dishes but the go to is always the wings. They are, by far, the best wings we have ever had. My son has withdrawals in between trips. Just down the road from IOP and right at the main road dumping into Sullivan's Island, do yourself a favor and go here.
We stopped by this pub as a last minute decision. We are so glad we did!! We tried the hummus and the chicken salad sandwich. The chicken salad was amazing!! We shared the chicken salad sandwich between two people. Our server Tyler was very friendly and did an excellent job. The owner was also helping his employees with anything they needed. We will definitely be back to support Dunleavy's Pub!! Thank you for a great experience!!
The menu lacked options that interested us, and finding parking was a real challenge, making it tough to reach the restaurant. Since we ultimately decided not to order anything, I can’t speak to the food. I also chose not to have a drink, as I’m not a fan of canned beer. My friends proposed we leave and search for a better place to eat on Sullivan's Island, as we were quite let down by the fish restaurant we had picked.

Even though I'm local, I went here recently for the first time. Only complaint is they are cash only. They have an ATM yet it charges a $3fee then my bank charges a fee for not using one of their ATMs. Food was decent as well as beer selection. There's no parking. Either try to find something on the side roads or there is pay to park, up the street.
Convenient location right next to the beach. Cash only but there is an ATM located inside. Complimentary popcorn and the reasonably priced seafood options were delicious. Was seated immediately upon entry and would gladly come here again after an afternoon at Sullivan's Island.
I had a fantastic lunch despite coming in during the tropical storm, and the place was bustling with people. The waitstaff were really fun and made the experience even better. I highly recommend the fish sandwich—it's a must-try!
Dunleavys is a fantastic Irish pub in Charleston, and you can definitely feel the local vibe! Just a heads up, it’s a cash-only establishment. They offer free popcorn to snack on while you enjoy your time there...

The hot buffalo wings are amazing and bursting with flavor! The ambiance is wonderful too. This is definitely our favorite place to visit whenever we're here on vacation.
