experience: experience was not the biggest, but will try again if the weather is better. we were Tuesday night for 6:30 o'clock reservations for a birthday party. when we went to order, we were told that most of the items we hoped were not available because of the weather (it was snowing. the food we ordered, but was good. ambiance: there were only 1 or 2 other tables that sit so different than enjoying the company of our group, the ambiente was flat. the waitress was nice and attentive. location: also for an NW suburb it was kind of hard to find the restaurant. the address on gps brought us to home depot. we demanded help, but in all shops (combination of a shopping center, food shops, etc....
The bone marrow taco was good. Liked the presentation. The meat was missing a touch of flavor though. The Cauliflower and kale was very good. The pasta with poke was not good at all. It was made with fatty pork belly, the pasta was hard and the sauce was very oily. The red velvet dessert was not red velvet at all and was not moist and flowing over with the inside. The server just existing. She saw the pasta had one bite taken out of it and asked how it was. We said it was fine. The Dessert same thing. We were not and am not looking to have it taken off the bill but she was very disengaged. She was just going through the motions. I do like the restaurant though. Would just get different serve...
The food is typically great but all our meals came out cold, and our drinks had no garnishes (they ran out? . I still loving going but they just seemed off today.
At best mediocre from start to finish. Every aspect of the evening was what you’d expect from a bargain chain restaurant, not fine dining. Very disappointing.
