I’ve been coming to the Eastern Eye for over 15 years and Chef Murali has always stood out as being authentic and warm hearted. It was only when I returned from my first trip to India that I realised Chef Murali’s cooking was sharing the genuine taste of Indian cuisine. The Eastern Eye went one step further to provide me with 100% confidence they can entertain from an intimate setting to a full on traditional 50th birthday celebration party setting, for 40 of my friends. Chef Murali again demonstrated his skill and generosity in providing a buffet at the same quality as the a la carte restaurant menu. My house favourite dish is the Kerala Vegetable Curry and although I’ve never experienced t...

We have been to many of the Indian restaurants here over the last 25 years and Eastern Eye is the very best of them. Dishes are properly prepared with lovely tastes and textures. Many whole spices are visible this is not the uniform, mushy gravy that so many Indian restaurants serve. Rice and dahl are always excellent too a great indicator of a high quality operation. There is clearly a very good, highly experienced chef at work here, and we have always had an excellent meal at Eastern Eye, so we highly recommend it.
Eastern Eye is definitely one of my top dining spots. The food is incredible- packed with fresh ingredients and without any trace of MSG. Always delicious. The chef deserves high praise. The staff are extremely friendly and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. Prices are very fair. I've heard a rumor that they might be closing because of the expensive new lease. However, myself and many others hope they relocate so we can keep enjoying their fantastic cuisine in Brighton and Hove.
My wife and I, along with some friends, dined at Eastern Eye today and, once again, the food was absolutely amazing. Without a doubt, this is the top Indian restaurant in the Brighton area. Despite its location not being in the most glamorous part of Brighton and its unassuming exterior, I can assure you that if you appreciate authentic Indian cuisine, it is well worth the visit. The service was friendly and the experience was worth every cent. Book a table now
Have a takaway from here regularly and we always have the Masala Dosa and cauliflower manchurian amongst other things, we collect, put the dosa in the oven to crisp up and heaven. Can be fussy about my food, but have never been let down by Eastern eye. Tip, much cheaper if you collect yourself.
Went here with my wife for dinner on Sunday evening. Both the starter and main courses were delicious and serve hot and all together. We are vegetarian and you have a great choice of dishes. Do yourself a favour and visit this wonderful Indian restaurant.
Since it opened, this has easily been the best Indian restaurant in Brighton; authentic Indian food actually cooked by an Indian. Lovely relaxed atmosphere, always a joy.
Friendly and good service. Absolutely superb food. Masala dosa was beautiful and appropriately spicy. My lamb curry was heavenly. Brilliant restaurant Book a table now
