I’ve visited again recently. The restaurant is under new management. I had the combination chow mein with crispy noodles and the combination short and long soup. The dishes were overall quite OK but they did seem to use more oil than previously and perhaps a request could be put through to reduce the amount used. The dishes also didn’t seem as holistic as before. The same ingredients were there but they just didn’t blend in together as well. The service was friendly but there were a few minor lapses (bringing only one set of chilli sauce when two were requested and bringing two separate bowls for soup but with no accompanying spoons). This used to be a local favourite - good Australian style Chinese food - not for the purists but reliably tasty, cheap and always friendly.Under new owners the quality of the food has deteriorated significantly, the local atmosphere has been destroyed by a karoke machine that is completely out of place, all the friendly staff have been replaced, and in what was a BYO favourite a corkage charge per head has been introduced that is no doubt the first step in jacking up the prices.This business has been a Coogee favourite for over 40 years. While it might survive the summer on the back of unsuspecting tourists, the locals are deserting in droves. Avoid.
Nothing much to write about in this fast food, eat-in and takeaway Chinese restaurant. Laminex tables and tiled floor with an oversized TV on the wall says, it's as much about meeting people for a quick meal versus anything gourmet. Typical local Chinese food cooked quickly and served piping hot and plenty of it, but just missing the 'tasty' mark. Although most restaurants in this busy strip were busy this Sunday evening, it was easy to find a spare table here, which says a bit about its popularity. Would we return? Probably not. But if you're in a hurry, and there are free tables, jump in.
The family that ran this business (where the older man did the cooking) have recently sold, it seems. I have dropped in for a few meals since and its no longer as good as I had previously experienced. The meals contained MSG and the flavours were bland. How can a bbq pork dish and mongolian lamb dish taste the same? I won't be returning here. Shame.

Our experience today was nothing like the last few I read first but went anyway. Food was better than excellent! ! Byo alcohol is also a big tick. Had crispy duck and it was the best that I have ever had and I have had a few. Cannot rate it more highly.
Food okay, but forced to hurry up and order as kitchen about to close, then chased to pay and more or less felt forced to leave, take my money and get out. Their reason, they've been there all day!! Won't return
Food was great, tasty and fresh. A shame to spoil a nice night out by having to ask for everything 2 or 3 times...in the end i had to go to the kitchen to get their attention....wont be going back for a while..
We dropped in late on a Friday night and found a little gem in the midst of the Coogee restaurant scene. Good food, reasonable prices and served quickly was what we required, and this place fitted the bill.

We've heard some mixed reviews but thought we would give it a go. Very surprised and really happy for a Sunday night take-away.
Had a great meal here- beautiful food, exceptional service and particularly good fried ice cream. Would definitely recommend
