We have been faithful patrons of the Tamez family owned restaurant El Patio Cafe in Edinburg, Texas for over 24 years! Years ago, my daddy, Eutiquio Elizondo, Sr., gifted a hand made barbed wire cross to The Tamez '. The Tamez family has made my daddy 's cross a 'part ' of their Cafe 'home, ' and it still hangs on their walls to this day! My great nephew, Christian Castillo, would go eat there as a child with my sister (Christian 's grandma) and our daddy on many occasions. Christian still has vivid memories of this restaurant and of the same table they used to sit at. He was SO happy and proud to see that a 'piece ' of his great grandpa was there. We went on Tuesday this week and we had told the server that our enchiladas were salty so she said she would get her mom when the lady came to our table she said that her enchiladas are the best in the menu and that no one had complained other than us and that they rarely put any salt in them she had an accusing tone since the beginning so I told her that we were not trying to get out of paying. We were just telling her that our food was salty, and then she looked at the table and said maybe you guys over salted it we did not add any salt to our food. she told us that it was probably the cheese on the enchilada that was salty because it seem like they put to much of it on ….she blamed the ch...
We hosted my grandson's graduation party there this evening .... since he had received a mariachi stole for the McAllen High School Class of 2024, the restaurant's Fiesta theme and decor were perfect. The entire process of organizing and planning for the party was most awesome...Cris was the contact person and made working together so easy...I had direct access to her via phone/text and was able to get all the info. needed to plan properly along the way. The food was delicious as was the service. Everyone had a great time and plan to return there for personal meals. Thank you Cris and the Tamez family for making this a beautiful event! Ordered carry out botana for 4 and was not the usual delicious food that it is. When my family and I dine in the food is always fresh and really tasty. We were seriously disappointed. On the plus side, my son ordered an enchilada plate and that was its usual delicious self. I'll write this off as bad fortune and it'll never happen again.

They took a while to serve, I ordered a burrito and it didn't have anything like a burrito, it was just very hot yellow cheese (heated in a microwave) and beans, I never saw the burrito and it doesn't taste good, the only good thing is that they were playing the Champions
The food is incredible; I've never had a bad dish here. The staff are friendly and inviting, and the atmosphere of the building feels like home. There's nothing else like this in Georgia. The place is very welcoming, and there are plenty of parking spaces available.
The food here is absolutely delicious! We always go for the breakfast special, and you definitely need to try it! They also serve the best coffee. The parking lot has recently been renovated, so it’s in great shape!
The food is exceptionally delicious, and the service is excellent. Miss Esperanza, in particular, creates a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home.

Good place to get a great chicken fried steak or chicken fried chicken. Just be patient because it takes a while. Prices are good, busy place.
Typical Tex Mex Restaurant you would find in the RGV. Good portions, great prices. Outstanding value
